Samuel is one of the clan's original ProGens, chosen by the gods to keep Kyungsoon company and build a community where before there was none. It is a role that could go to some dragons' heads. They would immediately designate themselves head honcho, the powers that be, and set about making sure that everyone did exactly what they said. Samuel, however, is not that dragon. He is much too fond of naps. Naps are important. Listening to the water gurgling in the creek is important. Finding out whether or not dayglo thresh tastes good with blackberries is really important along with trying out the honey from Bliss's hives. Exerting your will on others? Conquering kingdoms? Naming yourself the be all and the end all? Not so much.

When Samuel is not napping, he takes it upon himself to round up all the clan's familiars who are not paired with other dragons and give them some quality one on one bonding time. This worries glowing pocket mouse a little. She always thinks that Samuel will find a familiar that he likes better than her and forget to take her home again. It never happens, though. Glowing pocket mouse is the best napping companion of all. She nestles down in the warm fur by Samuel's neck, he tips his hat over his eyes, and together they take a nice long siesta.
If everyone took a nap each day, the world would be a better place
