What is past, is past...

______ Eora cannot feel anymore. It's not in her these days; hard to feel much when you're dead. But a strong calling remains: a call to do her duty and take up the mantle of the Christmas spirit, the GINGERBRO. Perhaps it is merely magic that shackles her here in the MANCAVE, but Eora likes to believe it is something more; a spark of life that still remains. She can still live, in a way, and she's determined to make the most of it!

Eora's balloon floating up over the dunes is the first sign that CHRISTMANS is on its way, and she loves the attention, even if most dragons can't see the fine ghost herself. She barely grieved over her own death, and instead has thrown herself into the tradition with all she's got. During the season, her primary duty is to tell the hatchlings the story of CHRISTMANS (through the seer, Taki), but Eora often goes the extra mile, stringing up all manner of trinkets and even trying to get some snow into the desert. (Which usually fails, but she rarely minds - failure doesn't matter to her anymore. Maybe it never did. Eora just laughs and moves on.)

Now a ghost, Eora can't help but be cryptic at times. She always liked word games and wordplay in life, after all; why not be a little mysterious? She's quite hammy about it all, her silly clues always carrying a joking lilt to them, but even her persistent, dogged mind seems to go to sleep occasionally, creating rather dramatic pauses in the middle of sentences. Sometimes she'll just give up on the sentence altogether and try another one; perhaps the original just wasn't meant to be!

Only Maheru seems to like her jokes, though. Sion is too quiet for such things as raucous laughter, and Lemrun... He keeps to hImself, really. So Eora often goes about with her ghostly Spiral friend, laughing and playing and trying to help him remember - though of course her heart belongs with Sion. He's her one and only, though she can't recall the wedding. It must have happened at some point, she supposes.

What will be, will be...

______

Eora lived a long, happy, and frankly quite charmed life; she showed some talent as a cartographer, and soon travelled the dragon lands to try and make her maps. In the interests of trying to find things that others had not, Eora challenged herself always, pushing and pushing to get up just one more icy slope or steep cliff. She was never all that famous, and nothing was named after her either - but she was quite all right with that.

Headstrong and optimistic, with no enemies to speak of and a generous handful of doting friends across Sornieth, it seemed there was really nothing that could hold Eora back in life, even as she grew older and greyer in the fur. Not even a raging thunderstorm in the middle of nowhere, or a lightning farm in the middle of the desert with the doors all locked and stuff, or a scorpion, or a broken rail... well, maybe some of those things. But they didn't really hold her back, since she woke up afterwards and carried right on being passionate and motivated. She just had somewhat different duties now, that was all!

Eora, being the first ghost to be properly held in the clan, was for a time used as a seer; Taki's laziness really knew no bounds at times. It turned out that Eora's old cartography knowledge, combined with access to some kind of ancient hivemind of dead dragons, meant she could predict things simply based on the mistakes made in the past. Not always accurate, but certainly insightful and entertaining. MANLY MCBRO still encourages Eora to give readings during the festival, something which she has become rather swift at. In her spare, non-festival time, it's not uncommon to see the Tundra bothering those few dragons who can see her, asking if they would like yet another reading.

Using the many voices that ring in her head on a daily basis, Eora was able to draw a special map for Maheru's fifth anniversary with the clan: a series of floor plans of his beloved lightning farm, supposedly accurate down to the last coffee cup. Much to Maheru's surprise, the railing above the machinery room was broken, but he couldn't quite recall why that was so surprising. Eora could only shrug; the dead didn't lie, after all. If Maheru couldn't remember why he thought she was wrong, then he was probably just wrong in the first place.

Shortly after Eora produced the map, Maheru 'gave it away to the obsidian', whatever that meant. Well, he always did like that stuff.
