Astori, #130142: Departed 2/20/2016 Eviolite, #84893: Departed 2/25/2016 Missfox, #81780: Departed 2/30/2016 Hasuna, #226585: Departed 4/6/2016 INVENTORY CLAN CLOUDSTONE Hymn was musically inclined even before the beginning. Her mother, Necco, had a habit of humming when it was her turn to tend her eggs. Meanwhile her father, Wafer, flew around the nesting cavern, creating a rhythmic beat every time he pushed off the wall to change direction. The older she became, the more interested she was in finding music in her day-to-day surroundings. Most often, it was the music she herself created when she soared through the air: her wide, flapping wings was the bass, and her breathing and the whoosh of her tail through the air added rhythm. The whistling breeze, blown in by the Twisting Crescendo, seemed to fit right in. All at once, what was a simple stroll through the skies would become a dance in the air as she made her own symphony with the wind. Hymn was so eager to find new music in her environment that she would go looking for it. She would wander along the cobblestone streets of Clan Cloudstone with her ears open, enjoying the music in other dragons bartering their wares and advertising their services. Sometimes, though, her father would find her and demand what was taking her so long—all she had to do was pick up some herbs and fresh meat for supper, or some other simple errand. Although she grew up happy in her melodious clan in the clouds, as she neared adulthood, Hymn realized that all she heard were the same tunes. Over and over, day in, day out, her mother seemed to hum the same low, slow-paced music. Yes, the wind seemed to whistle the same chords as it took its usual route through the clouds on its way around the Twisting Crescendo. Hymn loved her home and her parents, of course, but she found the music to be getting monotonous. The only island in this one-note sea was her father. Wafer's quick wit enabled him to come up with lyrics on the fly for any kind of music Hymn could point out to him, and she always enjoyed his lovely singing voice, even if his songs didn't always make sense. Just before the '16 Crystalline Gala, she sat her parents down and expressed her wish: she wanted to go out and travel around Sorneith. She wanted to find new music. And although she didn't feel it yet, she was sure that soon her heart would ache for her to find a charge. Both her parents were very supportive in her decision. They made sure Hymn knew that their door would always be open for her, and they would always be available to help if she needed them. VILLAGE OF BELLICE Her first visit to the Southern Icefields was not nearly as charming as she originally thought it might be. The town she came to stay at, deep in a forested part of the Snowsquall Tundra, was... in a word; eerie. Villagers were on edge the moment she arrived, though Hymn had a sinking feeling that their anxiousness was normal for these civilians. Dragons told her in hushed tones about the horrible Wendigos that lurked in the woods, and worse still of a tyrannical group spoken only of as 'The Hive.' Notably the village leader was the most steadfast of these civilians, and calmly answered all of her questions in relation to the Wendigos; the poor girl had never heard of such awful beasts! However when it came to the group known as 'The Hive...' The Tundra only snorted and violently shook his head. It was one topic he dared not to touch. Everyone urged her not to stay. The villagers even went so far as to offer to help the guardian prepare; so long as she left and put this wretched place far from her memory. [ OBTAINED: ] Stag Figurine, Longneck Winter Rations, Elk Pelt BREEZY STEPPE CLAN Despondent from her first foray into the world, Hymn returned to the Windswept Plateau. She did not return home but took lodging at a clan that also served as a traveler's rest stop. For some time, she remained there, wondering if she really could continue such a journey. She listened often to the stories of the clan's inhabitants, hoping to learn from their experiences. What finally motivated her was the clan's bard whose music reminded Hymn the reason why she began her travels in the first place. With new melodies echoing in her head, Hymn set out more determined than ever! SOMETHINGSMARMY'S CLAN Hymn journeyed forth to the domain of the Stormcaller, finding shelter in the Carrion Canyons with a cheerful, if mishmashed clan of dragons. FuzzO welcomed her with open wings, only too happy to provide a cozy nest for a weary traveler. She enjoyed the company of a Fallen Streak while here. |
