SnowsTwilight has always been a dragon who had trouble making up his mind. Part of it, the rest of the clan is sure, must be his arcane heritage. Arcane dragons are known for their incredibly flexible magic, and their enthusiastic willingness to dash after whatever interests them at a moment's notice, only to go chasing just as enthusiastically after the next thing to catch their eye. SnowsTwilight certainly fits that description. He is the sort who always wants to be everywhere and doing everything at once. He flits from role to role within the clan, and for a time he even had trouble making up his mind as to which clan he wished to stay in. However, the one thing he has been able to decide firmly on is that he adores his mate, Halina, with his whole heart, and he won't change his mind about that.

SnowsTwilight was very certain that he wanted to settle down in his birth clan for good. Then he was certain that he wanted to leave and go traveling, but maybe come back. Then he decided that he definitely wanted to seek a new clan, and he set off to make his fortune. Each region he traveled through had its own new things to do and see, and they each captured his attention, for a time. He immersed himself in the culture there, became acquainted with the clans, and explored all over looking for the place he was sure would call to him to settle for good. However, each time, he gradually decided that they weren't for him, and set off again.

When he arrived in the Windswept Plateau, he was filled with enthusiasm. The region was as new and different as he could have hoped for. He had always loved the joy of a fresh new start, and the laughing breeze and bright kites against the blue sky seemed like a good omen. He was especially taken with the place, and with the friendly dragons he met there. The clan who had welcomed him to stay a while was full of kind and friendly dragons. One dragon in particular, however, caught his eye. He had had his little romances on his travels, flirting and dinners that had never led to anything more serious. He'd always been a bit of a flirt, by virtue of never being able to decide what he liked best in a mate.

However, something about Halina was different. She embodied so many things that had always attracted him, and a number of things that he hadn't realized he liked so much until he saw them in her. She was lovely and refined, yet she had a gift for making remarks that had him bursting out into laughter. She shared his energetic spirit, but she also liked to relax and daydream, and helped him to slow down and see things he might have otherwise missed. She taught him one of her favorite games, closing her eyes in flight and navigating the ever-changing winds and currents in their region, which felt like a new sky every day. She would describe the mountains, waves, and rivers the currents of air felt like to him, as though they were exploring some strange new land. He had never met anyone else that he felt he matched so well with.

He got along remarkably well with the rest of the clan too, since it was full of members with different occupations and hobbies, and all of them patiently willing to show him how to do this or that, not taking offense when his interest waned and he went off to find out about something else. The clan was large enough that there were many members to make friends with and learn from. Whether they were mages, gatherers, or crafters, they all had something interesting to show him. He had always bounced from activity to activity, picking them up and putting them down, but he found himself with so many things to occupy him, that he kept coming back to them. If he put down cooking lessons with Spika to go spar with Straton, she would welcome him back several days later and pick up like he never left.


With so many new friends and things to occupy him, including the particularly intriguing Halina, SnowsTwilight stayed with his wind clan for quite a while, longer than he had with any other clan before. He barely noticed, until one of the flight festivals rolled around, and he realized how long he had been there. More than that, he realized he had all but settled in there. It surprised him, and worried him a little. He had never really settled down in a place before. Should he? What if he got bored and left? What if he didn't and stayed? Uncertain of what to do, he went to ask Halina, since talking to her always made him feel calmer, and her advice was usually good.

Halina suggested that he should take another trip out somewhere else, and compare it to his life here with the clan. If he would truly regret settling down and ceasing to jump from place to place, then leaving would be a relief. If not, then he would surely find his own way back. It sounded like a good idea to SnowsTwilight, who set off traveling again. Halina had suggested a clan in the Viridian Labyrinth with whom they were friendly who he might visit, and as it had been a long time since he'd been there, he agreed that it was an excellent idea. He set off traveling again, enjoying the new sights and dragons he met along the way, and found the clan. He happily stayed with them for several months, but something was different this time. He felt a pull to leave, yes, but not to somewhere new and unseen. What he felt was the tug of his home, in the Windswept Plateau, and the dragon he realized he had fallen in love with, Halina.

As soon as he realized it, he bid his hosts a fond farewell, and hurried back, bursting with the need to tell Halina. He all but tripped over himself in his rush to greet her again, and his proclamation of feelings was anything but graceful, yet it was met by a fond smile and a press of her cheek against his own. She had known all along, of course. If you love something, let it go, and if it's meant to be, it will come back to you, and that was exactly what she had done. SnowsTwilight and Halina are all but inseparable now, in the clan he has finally made his home. He has no set role within the clan, instead going from one to another, lending a paw when help is needed, so that he never gets bored doing one single thing. And every day, he and Halina fly together, wingtip to wingtip, closing their eyes and exploring a new sky together.


Everything we do here is so much fun, how could I not want to be a part of all of it?
