Nature Tome Light Tome Arcane Tome
Grouse Basilisk Field Notes Aged Tome
The Librarian
- Curious
- Eccentric
- Gentle
Keeper is many things - a librarian, a scientist, a researcher and a recorder. He seeks out book after book and writes many himself, dreaming to someday fill a library with all the information in the world. He also collects specimens for his studies. His mate is the healer Poinsettia, they have had three hatchlings and adopted a young fae named Manzanita. Keeper secretly feels like an Arcane or Light dragon, but he respects the Gladekeeper and does have some Nature dragon attributes. He greatly enjoys learning and experimenting with plants.

Besides writing and acquiring many books about other dragons, distant clans, histories and encyclopedias, he also has a variety of information about the Endless Dusk tribe. He has information on all the exalted dragons, various tribe traditions and history and other knowledge. He believes that it immortalizes the tribe and their ways. New tribe members who enjoy reading come to learn anything and everything about their new home.

Welcome to the Library

*You enter a stone building with vines growing up one of the walls, tucked away in a corner and partially hidden by ferns, wisteria, lavender and poinsettia flowers. Within are shelves and shelves of every kind of book, tapestries and a several potted plant. A royal purple Spiral is going from place to place, managing to simultaneously write in a small leatherbound book, observe a finch in a cage, experiment on a variety of potted plants and sketch a charcoal drawing.
"Feel free to look around! Encyclopedias on plants, animals and dragons are in the right corner, fiction is in the far left corner, tribal records and various books about the Endless Dusk in the near left corner and Sorneith History is in the near right corner." Deciding you have read enough encyclopedias to last a lifetime in hatchling school but still interested in nonfictional works, you choose to browse the tribal records.*

Tribal Records

History Of The Tribe

The tribe was founded by Terebithia and Sirka when they decided that they wished to start a clan. After seeking and receiving the Gladekeeper's blessing, they made a makeshift lair in a grove within the Everbloom Gardens. Terebithia had a nestful of hatchlings, some of which decided to deserve the Gladekeeper and the clan was solely a family group. Xenti and Keeper later came to the clan at very young ages. Poinsettia and Larimar came even later and offered their services to the fledgling clan. The leadership was strict and the lair was primitive, but they were bonded together with morals of providing hospitality and kindness and in service of the Gladekeeper.

As the clan grew it evolved into a tribe. While a clan was a group of families banded together, a tribe
was a more sophisticated group with its own traditions, leadership, council and laws. The leadership of the tribe was mostly a monarchy, Terebithia and Sirka led with their children as heirs and a council consisting of clan elders, the royal family and trusted individuals who cared about the growth of the clan.

Duncan the wanderer helped the tribe get on its feet with his knowledge of how other groups worked. He helped the tribe become more organized and encouraged members to actively seek roles within the tribe, grow and expand. Xenti became dedicated to taking care of the tribe's young as well as replacing Duncan's role on the council when he moved on, Larimar became a warrior, Poinsettia became a healer, Keeper became a librarian, Willowind became a sentinel and other similar dragons took up positions where they could be of use to the clan. The aforementioned individuals also gained places on the council.

The next big change for the tribe was the coming of Manzanita. Under her careful watch the new living arrangements were built. She combined functionality with architecture and abolished primitive living arrangements.

Favorites——
These dragons have the longer and more interesting lore (or shorter lore that I really love). There are also several non-favorite dragons who still have nice lore farther down. Their names are in bold.

Terabithia, Clan Mother - an idealistic leader whose caring borders on naïveté

Sirka, Chieftain - the mate of Tera and chieftain of the lair who is as harsh as he is protective. A detailed story about his difficult life, meeting Terabithia and forming the Tribe of the Endless Dusk can be found on his page.

Pascal, Healer of Plants - she was shunned from her hatching because of her sickliness and pale plumage and treated her whole childhood like she herself was a disease. Pascal has experienced much loneliness and neglect throughout her life and is used to being considered a taboo. This has made her guarded, but those who truly desire and seek her friendship find her to be very gentle and a wonderful listener.

Willowind, Guardian of the Forest - she is a dryad in dragon-form, with a long and sad tale of losing her home. The entirety of the forest that the Endless Dusk lives in has been grown by her - or, rather, regrown from the previous forest here. She guards the forest ceaselessly to make sure what once happened would never again. And, though this aloof dryad would never say it, she will often also protect the dragons who dwell within.

Poinsettia, Healer - a Coatl who adores fire as much as she does herbs and uses both to tend to the sick and injured. She is the
mate of Keeper and adoptive mother to Manzanita.

Hope, Storyteller - a former-traveler who shares stories from both her travels and those of her daughters. The elder is Faith, a warrior who was slain in battle. Her letters to her mother have been kept and preserved for anyone to read. Faith’s predecessor is her little sister, Ili, who took up Faith’s mantle to continue her work traveling around and righting wrongs.

Sasha, Tender of Nests - this sister of Sax has helped many feeble, near-death hatchlings pull through the night and is the one that takes it the hardest when they sometimes slip out of life. She’s mute and rather reserved, but can be deeply comforting to anxious mothers and has a few, beautiful secrets of her own.

Amethyst, a “pirate” who dedicates her life to raiding slaveships and freeing their captives after a tumultuous past involving thievery, becoming a eldritch monster and terrorizing the land. She is far removed from it and no longer bound by the evil that once haunted her, but she will fight her whole life to undo the scars that she left.

Cassis, Innkeeper - she runs The Beacon Inn and welcomes in the weary, broken or battered and all who need protection from the cold and darkness outside. Her hospitality is usually free so many well-wishers often donate money to keep the Beacon from never going out.
————————————-

Tyrian, Head of the Council - an orphaned, former-prince who was saved from his ransacked kingdom by Talonok and who later fell in love with the lovely Zaneta.

Zaneta, Seamstress - a princess who came to the tribe for an arranged marriage and found unexpected joy.

Melorey, Cook - the firstborn to the leaders, Melorey has watched the Endless Dusk grow from a humble family-clan to a tribe. She lost her heart to a cheese-loving traveler and has found great joy making beautiful creations in the kitchens with her children often aiding her.

Filgoris
, Underground Leader - he was an heir to the tribe until he faked his own death. Now he runs a ‘clan’ called the Underground that shelters Beastclans, refugees and many roughed-up but good-hearted dragons that have nowhere else to go.

Xenti, Hatchling Caretaker - he was the first dragon to officially join the tribe, when he was even younger than it was. Xenti is a gentle and kindly dragon who carefully balances two duties: caring for the tribe’s young and representing his flight in trade. Though one could argue both jobs are highly important, he truly values the former more.

Keeper, Librarian - lover of knowledge and keeper of the records

Manzanita, Architect - a meek young Earth fae who carefully built up the tribe to the beautiful place it is today.

Larimar, Warrior - the fierce and clever strategist and, surprisingly, the mate to Xenti.

Precious
, Mage - a kindly, though eccentric, mage who enjoys delivering gifts with a stoic Maren Warlock companion suspended in a bubble.

Dream, Exaltee Shepherd - formerly an exalted dragon himself, he guides exalted dragons to the Behemoth and keeps records of them, too.

Everwinter
, Familiar Keeper and Beastclan Rep - she has a caring heart and relentless energy to make sure that ever creature that lives in the tribe is well cared for. She also maintains alliances with the Beastclans and has, illegally, taken in many through the Underground.

Nyctea, Ice Representative - the dear friend and mate of Everwinter and one of the few who shares her belief in male Harpies. His greatest accomplishment is magically turning a cave into a snowy wonderland.

Creme, Baker - Melorey’s daughter leads a simple life of baking and being as snarky as her desserts are sweet.

Dun, Cheesemaker - Melorey’s cheese-loving son who can never truly be as dignified as his father.

Agate, Swordmaster - Larimar’s daughter who was struck by a devastating injury and went from a competent young warrior to a reclusive, grumpy swordmaster who trains only those who can stand her.

Jerrod, Chief Hugger and Comforter - a kindly tundra who gives friendly hugs to sad dragons and has an affinity for rejected creatures, often sending gifts via a friendly Caiman.

Caesha, Wind Representative - she used to be an exaltee but was rescued by Xenti and, after a while, she began to heal from her trauma. Now she is much more recovered and has found a love for travel and maintaining relations between her flight of birth and her flight of adoption.

Nursejoy (‘Ross’), Nurse Joy - the fluffy patriarch of the Nurse Joy operation in the Endless Dusk

Nursejoy (‘Rosie), Nurse Joy - the matriarch of the Nurse Joy operation. Her children with Ross go out all over Sorneith to spread love.

Jasper, Explorer - formerly of the Bralda-hîm Weyr (the birthplace of Dahlia, Larimar and Poinsettia) and second cousin of Larimar.

Dahlia, Entomologist - mate of Jasper.

Lavender, Dancer - the shyest member of the Flower Triplets dancing troupe.

Wisteria, Dancer - the most enthusiastic member of the Flower Triplets who desires to take their show all around Sorneith.

Senecio, Dancer - the showy announcer and affectionate brother of the Flower Triplets

Eoin, Heir - he was abandoned, bearing the name ‘Ugly’. Terabithia and Sirka found him and took him in while they were still mourning Filgoris, marveling at how he looked like he could have been their own son.

Jimmy
, Fashionista - the fashion designer who can make fantastic outfits for most everyone but himself, his personal outfits always being odd messes. Unfortunately, whatever he wears is registered by the young and impressionable as ‘cool’ and he unintentionally has set far too many trends within the tribe.

Kyanite, Courier

River
, Fisher/Scavenger - Sirka isn’t entirely sure he they allowed River to join in the first place, or why he hasn’t kicked him out yet. Perhaps it’s because most of the lair enjoys keeping him around for the entertainment. Among other questionable activities, River has a tendency to spear fish with his snoot, cause explosions and fling fish.

Silica, Water Caretaker - she tends the lakes, streams and the various creatures within the water ecosystem.

Snowball, Light Representative - a peaceful Spiral who longs for truth and kindness.

Leaflet, Jerrod’s Guardian - Leaflet is committed to taking care of Jerrod, who is both his brother and his charge, as he journeys about bringing kindness. He has secretly saved the Tundra’s life many times

Meadow, Princess

Delight, Princess

Sax, Beekeeper - as sweet as honey and as warm as the sun, Sax is the Endless Dusk’s beekeeper and she takes great delight in experimenting with honeys and caring for her bees. She is loved by all, including the hatchlings - she is often the unofficial babysitter.

Ruse
, Undercover Spy - she is the daughter of Soulhunter, the monster pursuing the beloved Wandering Princess of Nature, and has fought to prove to the Tribe that she is nothing like her father. Her heritage has, ironically, helped her in her fight against evil, as she is more likely to be trusted as the daughter of Soulhunter. She is also a member of the Dreamers guild, fighting against the monstrous dragons not unlike her father known as the Awoken.

Chai, Tearoom Owner - the distant descendant of Tea Flight dragons, Chai raised her children to be true to their heritage. She runs a tea room.

Lapsang
, Tealeaf Grower - Lapsang is a tea leaf grower who loves to combine and create new teas. She has seen how tea brings people together and has learned to expect the spontaneous tea parties that often occur.

Souchong
- the brother of Lapsang, Souchong is very hospitable. He often bakes pastries to pair with his sister’s tea. The delicious scents of vanilla are often the precursor to large groups of dragons sampling both dessert and tea, talking and laughing as they do so.

Celebrian
- an otherworldly 2nd gen Imperial whose parents were formed by the Lightweaver herself. She is the lady of a place called Rivendell, within the hidden valley of Imladris, and occasionally visits the tribe to spread a little of its light.

Saffron

Ceylon, - a true Teacup dragon

Matcha - hatchling
