Avalon the Night Gardener monitors the unlikely gardens hidden inside the Raven Queen's piece of the Foxfire Bramble. He maintains the flowers growing under glowshroom light, moves brambles and shrooms about to provide the minimal amount of light they require; cuts loose the choking weeds and fungus that don't mix well with the plants selected by the master Gardener. Being an aggressively impulsive wildclaw, he also spends a good portion of his nights patrolling the garden and its perimeter for tricksters of the uninvited sort.

Along with Ophelia, Avalon wanders Plume's garden at night. While Ophelia prefers the solitude of brambles and the rare company of errant dragons, Avalon wanders the open areas of the garden. Unofficially, he's Plume's assistant, maintaining the night blooms and attending to the moonlit behavior of garden flora and fauna.

Much like Templeton, Avalon is a dragon of few words--though unlike Templeton, he does speak. Most dragons out seeking a meeting with Ophelia--the Wishmaker, the Foxfire--will encounter Avalon in their travels. While not threatening, he is unpredictable and prone to aggressively acting on whatever whim takes him. As a result, whether by choice or consequence, encounters with him are brief and thus few know his name. He is generally referred to as The Night Gardener, or occasionally 陰火 (inka), in keeping with Nogitsune's variations on a theme.
