Biography
Pistache
Apothecary
Herbalist Tools of The Trade Trained as an alchemist and apothecary, the coatl was more interested in being left to his brews than in the clan’s politics. So it was with disgruntled surprise that he learned that his services had been sold to a new clan. Annoyed at having to stop his research, he traveled to his new home in the Icewarden’s domain, and the annoyance only grew as he learned that he was to act as an assistant to the clan’s “medic”. Trained in the precise art of alchemy, Pistache disliked the hocus pocus involved with magic healing and with herbology in general. If it must come to that he would be a herbalist to the clan, and he made the distinction very clear. So it was with begrudging admiration that he saw his new partner in action. A formidable healer and a refreshingly like mind, Mint could match his knowledge with expertise gathered from her endless research into the arid wasteland around her, and she even – it hurt to admit – surpassed him when it came to the local flora – which could only be explained by the years she had ahead of him in exploring her environment. Something he would correct as soon as he could. Partners On a reluctant alliance, Pistache allowed himself to work together with Mint, and the results were most satisfying indeed. With the samples gathered in her excursions with the fighters, he was able to experiment like never before, and before long both had a well-equipped bag with many different potions. More than that, it was progress indeed that she would allow him to tend to sick clan mates while she was away – something that would have earned him sullen looks and a very messy fight in the first days of his stay. Even more interesting, Pistache found himself enjoying the company of his skydancer companion. Though the language was a barrier at first - coatls have a hard time communicating with other breeds, since their barbarian ways haven’t evolved into a more civilized language – they were soon involved in heated discussions about herb uses and whether or not it is a good idea to put unicorn dust on a smoke bomb. Refreshing, indeed. Changed As his partner was rewarded for her service, the coatl sought out an audience with the queen and her advisor, seeking a reward for himself. It was only for research purposes, of course. One could not expect such a brilliant scientist to be hindered by such a petty thing as language when improving on his research. Surely it would greatly benefit the clan to use one of their precious magic scrolls to have him transformed into a skydancer. And if Mint was stunned at that, well, that was only a side effect. One to be more carefully studied for his personal research. |
