"Together we make a family." ╰━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━╯ Dancer woke up, not in a panicked or frightened fashion, but lazily, as he had just emerged from a peaceful slumber. Careful not to wake his adored mate, Grace, he slowly rose and stretched, then creeped out of their shared den. The fog rolled around him, seeming to cling to him as if they claimed him to be a shadow dragon at heart. His red eyes seemed to glow and penetrate the wispy waves, the only thing that marked him as a plague dragon. But this evidence was smothered by his dark and mysterious appearance. Another form emerged from the mist, undeniably quite larger than him. The other Imperial glanced at him, keeping eye contact for only as second, before slipping back into the rolling fog. The hair along Dancer's spine bristled in indignity at the way the other dragon had looked down to make eye contact with him. Nevertheless, he continued on his way, until he came to a familiar den, soaked in a comforting scent. He peeked inside, confirming it was okay to come in, and spotted the much smaller form of his step-mother, Dragon. Dancer stepped inside and deeply inhaled the scent that belonged to one of the few dragons he loved, a sense of serene calm wrapping around him. He had known this scent well, even as a hatchling. She must have caught his scent too, because a heartbeat later, one eye opened slowly and she yawned. "Isn't it a little early for a visit?" She questioned, words slurred by the intoxication that is sleep. She was answered with nothing more than an amused rumble. Slowly, she slunk out of her nest and sat beside Dancer, watching the fog roll by in waves, curling and crashing into one another, wisping around logs, stones, and trees. Creating the most delicate and detailed patterns, that would only vanish in mere seconds. "You should get back to Grace. You don't want her to be alone when they hatch, do you?" With a quiet rumble, he took one last look at Dragon before padding off into the fog. He already knew what he was going to name the first one.
