The reason Eluno Forstyxis was given command of the Chalcedony Mountain Platoon isn't because of her suited-for-leadership personality, but rather of her on-field skills. Progressing through the ranks of the main force with proficiency alone, her lack of obedience and conventionality did not give her entirely positive points in her superiors' eyes. She is, however, too useful to simply discard from the army, so instead they gave the captain her own team to deal with. Word spread like wildfire and the platoon soon became the equivalent of the force's madhouse; a place where skillful soldiers who do not fit in with the rest of the force are sent to.

Styx herself embraces the reputation; she'd much rather work with people who know exactly what they are doing than those who do things merely because they're told to. Her wily nature often takes her out into the wild on days when she has nothing better to do, stalking around those that had the misfortune to come across her and snatching their belongings while they were distracted by the small talk she'd make to distract them, or her mutated appearance, or both. If they're not paying enough attention to their surroundings then they don't deserve to keep their possessions, so she would argue whenever confronted by her mate about her habits. Her exploits have the added benefit of keeping the clan's borders secure however, so she swears that she is, in fact, still working even when not being deployed against alien enemies.

Despite her line of work, she remains appreciative of life's finer things, retaining the confidence of one who truly knows what they want in life. Whilst she mostly shirks her administrative work, she doesn't slack off when it comes to her work as the platoon's designated drill leader. When it comes to teaching others how to fight, she finds that the best lessons are taught the hard way. The mutation that has given her eyes in places they should not grow helps her prove her point, and whilst some may be put off by this strangeness, she only uses her aberration to her full advantage. Not only does it grant her 360 vision from multiple angles, it also enhances the aura of menace that she loves to emit. She's always fully aware and fully engaged, even at times when she least seems to be.
