""For every dark night, there's a brighter day.""
╭
Sahara is a child of light. Born into a loving family, and brought to this clan at only an hour old, Sahara grew up loved. It didn't take much for dragons to love her. Always sunny, Sahara's presence cheered anyone near her. Her charm very quickly made her a favourite to head to when things were down. Maple took her under her wing when she was young, teaching her the crafts of healing and potionmaking. Sahara knew it was her goal to help people, and her keen sense of emotion helped her immensely. Sahara's best friend is Bear the tundra, and the two are often seen together. Often, dragns will come to the two of them to receive counselling, therapy, mental help or just to cry on one's shoulder or talk about their stressful day. Sahara practices mental purging along with meditation in order to clear all the negativity gathered from her work. So far it's been working, though Myopia's presence keeps her work busy. Sahara still doesn't understand how no dragon notices her toxic work, but keeps her mouth shut. For it is not like her to take matters into her own hands.... unless it goes too far.
╰
╭
Some dragons frowned at Sahara's… odd way of treating ailments, particularly those of the mind. Maple would give you herbs and tell you to take it easy for a day or two. Meymo would puzzle at the lack of physical wounds and say you're fine, just fly it off. But Sahara knew better. The mind was a tricky thing, sturdy and surprisingly fragile at the same time. Some dragons were stronger than other, but all could fall prey to curses or mindgames at any time... Such as the Pearlcatcher standing in front of her now, head drooping, hugging himself with his wings. He looked miserable and felt worse, if his words were anything to go by. Sleepless nights, terrors jumping from every corner, malicious voices whispering in his ear… and these were just a few of the things he'd mentioned. Sahara believed him. She believed all of it, because she'd seen it all before. She kept her tone calm and soothing as she tried to banish some of the shadows that afflicted his mind, but she found it difficult to keep the sudden burst of anger she felt out of her voice. She knew what ailed the poor Pearlcatcher, because she'd seen it before with several others. It was the work of an older member of the clan, an Imperial named Myopia. Her jealous and vindictive nature, along with her dabbing in less than savory practices, left little doubt as to her involvement. Although Sahara couldn't prove it, not yet, she knew it to be true. By the time their session was finished, the other dragon felt a little relieved… but for however long, Sahara couldn't tell. She looked after him for a long time, then broke off a branch from the mint tree growing in a corner of her chambers, where a deep crack in the earth let a curtain of sunshine through. She popped it into her mouth and chewed it - a habit she'd had ever since she was a hatchling. The cool, minty aroma helped her think clearly. One day, someone would have to confront Myopia and put a stop to this, she thought, biting down on another minty branch with renewed anger. And that day would come soon. Very soon, or her name wasn't Sahara of the Gladeveins. Written by Merredith

Heart of Gold - From your Secret Admirer wrote:
Under the boughs where the cool mint grows
The sunbeams soft and the summer wind blows
A healer lives there for the sick and the lame
tending the injured, the wounds without name.
Robed in sunlight, feathers of gold
Helping hidden wounds unravel, unfold
Heal the heart by soothing the mind
Curing the ills no other can find.
Bright as her namesake, shadows wilt in fear
She burns them away till the truth can be clear
Myopia's evil can't slip by her wise gaze
And someday that murderer's halls she shall raze.
Sahara, the lovely and bright and so kind,
Tenderheart, bravery and gentleness entwined.
Lay down your burdens, rest here awhile
Find always a friend bearing for you a smile.
