Head Clan Ambassador

SUMMARY
Once the daughter of a noble family within a wind clan, Spiritdawn fled her home for the sake of her love- a love that went awry. One of the first dragons to join clan Rivensong, her past is mostly a distant memory now. The head ambassador for the clan, Spiritdawn takes to the tasks set out before her with a grace and cunning few can match. Despite her advancing age, very little has slowed the skydancer down over the many years she's loyal served her clan.

An intelligent and kind dragon with a wry wit, Spiritdawn wields words with a precise and deadly tongue. When not managing relationships on behalf of the clan, she spends time at home. Longtime friends with Kar and Struve, she also is the adopted mother of Amhara. While her old mate is long in the past, she does still mourn the disappearance of her son, Ryze, and maintains a close connection to Arana, his mate.
HISTORY
Born into a noble family within a wind clan, Spiritdawn was given all the tutoring in politics and etiquette a noble could expect. As a child she impressed her family and teachers with her ambition and cunning, but as she grew older she grew discontented with the idea that she'd be matched for the clan's gain, instead of allowed to prove herself as a political negotiator. This was when she met Kar, an up and coming merchant. They quickly bonded over their shared ambitions and became close friends. For a while they even entertained the idea of pairing, but eventually decided against it.

Spiritdawn turned down suitor after suitor to the ever-growing frustration of her family. Finally, she announced her mate- a nameless commoner she had been seeing in secret with the help of Kar. Her family was furious, but Spiritdawn refused to back down. She had three children with him, and for a while they lived in happiness. Two of her children were killed, her remaining son Ryze was separated from her, and her mate fled rather than stand by her. Heartbroken, she was horrified to learn the same assassin had come after Kar, kidnapped his daughter, and ruined his business.

Together, along with Ryze's still living mate Arana, the three of them joined the rag-tag band of wind raiders leaving the mainland. When clan Rivensong was founded, they all decided to stay. Spiritdawn bounded with the clan leaders, and quickly found that her skills as a diplomat were invaluable to the clan. She later adopted Amhara as a daughter, after the imperial came to the clan lost and seeking guidance. Now older and wiser, her skill with words is unmatched and just as important to the clan. But she still deeply mourns the tragedy of the loss of her son...
