Lancelot du Lac is an enthusiastic young dragon, a scout for Chalcedony Mountain Platoon who patrols the solitary floating island the base was built on and reports anything strange or suspicious to the head of security, Marlon. Apart from that, they relay messages from the platoon to and fro to the main force and other allied clans as necessary, their trusty Gloomwillow Guide "Shadowbug" in tow.

Most attribute their perpetual youthfulness to them simply being a naturally "baby-faced", perky dragon, but some people know better - they are a vampire, feeding on the blood of their prey in exchange for longevity. Although they are more often than not friendly, in between their travels between clans they can sometimes be caught stealing a bite of unwary passersby. Within their own clan, they can usually curb cravings fairly well, but on occasion somebody will get bitten; luckily, this is generally harmless to the other dragon as long as Lancelot didn't take too much and the bite doesn't get infected, but others still tend to keep their distance when Lancelot seems particularly restless.

They seem to be constantly awake and vigilant, few have seen them actually sleep. They often use this in one of two ways, depending on the night: to go on a night patrol as well as their day one, or to explore and have fun doing who-knows-what. If they end up in battle, their tactics are often based around their speed and high endurance. However, the problem is, while they don't actively seek out fights, if caught in a fight with multiple dragons they tend to overestimate their own ability, ending in often unpleasant results if nobody comes along to help them out. They have a lot of personality and a likable sense of humor, so they are fairly popular among the platoon members. If there is a job that needs to be done, they tend to be among the first to eagerly volunteer, especially if it means travelling out somewhere.
