She observes others with an intense stare, and speaks in a warm, soft voice. Hers is often a serene but intimidating presence; there is a gentleness about her, a master of everything and nothing, as reality falls apart at her touch. She used to be wilder and more violent but has since found somewhat of a quiet peace in her fraying mind. Now she is eager to observe, to learn, to poke and prod at the fabric of reality, though it hurts.

Peyton and her family, widely known as the Nightcallers, are split between Clans Umbra and Abyss to find the place that best suits them. Peyton hasn't always been the most shining example of a mother, often absorbed in her own magickal exploits, or simply just Urban's company. In recent times she has been attempting to rekindle relationships with many of her children...

A gift from Urban - though he may have initially intended her as a dinner offering - and the pair became fast friends. Siouxsie is particularly vain, and Peyton, surprisingly, goes to great lengths to cater to her. As Peyton's physical and mental health has deteriorated, Siouxsie has started to help her in her studies and spellwork, as well as with certain tasks and care.

In her reckless youth, Peyton defected from the deserts of Lightning, desperately hungry for magickal knowledge her birthclan could not provide. Her extensive travels eventually brought her to the Tangled Wood where - starving, tired, and desperate - she pleaded to the Shadowbinder, or whichever deity would hear her, to help her find the power she was looking for.

"Foolish girl," The goddess of shadows cooed, "Be careful what you wish for."

Peyton's magic grew; but at some point, the Shade wormed its way in, and the Shadowbinder did nothing to stop it - considering it the cost of the young Imperial's selfish desires and dark dealings. A lesson to be learned.

The young mage's body and mind twisted, warped out of shape. Now a ghastly harbinger of chaos, entropy, death -- with just a touch she could rend bodies apart atom by atom if she so chose. Such power, of course, comes at a heavy price: too much magic use renders her into a coma-like state and she, as she puts it, "receives punishment for her deeds." Such things have left her mind rather fragile.

She was brought in to Clan Umbra early on in its formation, and has been a close friend of Antares since the beginning. Despite the drawbacks of her magic, she is a deeply cherished member of the clan, and one of Umbra's strongest, most formidable protectors.

It was odd then, when the force that helped Clan Umbra remain unapproachable was the cause of its first alliance.

A gladiator from Clan Abyss encroached on their territory; a monstrous reaper who eagerly, viciously takes on foes much larger than himself. A meeting that should have come to tooth and claw instead resulted in enamored, intimidated stares. He was drawn to her like a moth to a flame; she saw through him completely, and what she saw, she loved.

The pair became inseparable, Urban departing from his Clan's grounds to be with her; or occasionally, she would follow him into the depths of the sea. Upon the discovery of their union, the two clans decided to try and become allies, and have since formed a strong companionship.

The death-dealing pair, since then, have parented a large brood of fearsome children.
