It was the middle of the night, and the blinds of the sky were pulled tightly shut to hide the sun from her view. It was dark, and the dark green grass was up to her shoulders as she roamed. There was not a sound at all, not even the swishing of the grass or the whisper of the wind. There was no breeze, and there were no creatures besides her. She looked like a lost maiden; an all-white dragoness whose scales shimmered like a polished jewel. She had a sparkling pink mane and jewels strung on her wings; but they were dull at the moment. They no longer shone as bright as could be, and her face was pale seemingly see-through. She wore a mask of no emotion as she drifted.
Not another dragon would know what had happened, why she was so gloomy and dark. It would be locked up in her heart with burning cold chains, and she could never be swayed to reveal the key. She brought up her talons and moved aside some brush. In the dusty clearing beyond, a clearing covered in spiderwebs, was a lone grave. It was gray, and it was freezing. It had been abandoned. It had been abandoned, he had been abandoned. Her silver eyes looked at the grave, glassy, for a second. All of a sudden she burst out of the foliage and ran over to the grave, her tail flying out behind her like a ribbon. She threw her arms around the stone, and sat there shivering in the silence. Icicles began to grow on her scales and the thin white dress she wore was not nearly enough to keep her warm. She was a great white lion, so proud, loyal, and regal. A white lion that cried for her master, her friend, her lover. Her world. Shaking from her sadness, she stopped and gasped at her last chance to hear his voice. She didn’t know where it came from, and she never would. He spoke the words of a song. The world we built is slipping through our fingers, We’re running out of time.
