Born to the aspiring king Iitan and his seer knight Corentine, the second clutch of children were sent away against Iitan's wishes, but in his better judgement. He saw their potential, yes, and he knew that perhaps their gifts would manifest and they would be the perfect prize, but they weren't skydancers. Neither of them possessed the grace he was looking for, and while he certainly knew that ridgebacks possessed incredible durability and strength, he wasn't so sure he wanted to work on them and mold them to his desires. He also didn't want to lose them to their own broken conscience - much to his disappointment, his powers were more than likely to do that to a young mind - or even go as far to seek out a scroll to change the chosen into a skydancer. Especially after how well his tampering worked on his firstborn son. Which, coincidentally, was not at all. So naturally, rather than tossing them overboard as he did the previous two ridgeback hatchlings, he sent them off to find a clan once they'd become capable of fending for themselves. And maybe they'd come back perfect for the picking. The daughter, in Iitan's eyes, was too soft to amount to anything. She emerged second, not just a few minutes after her brother, but nearly a whole day, her egg's shell being prodded apart piece by tiny piece, so slow and so frustrating for her father. If it wasn't for her mother's patience in holding back her father from assisting her in tearing apart her shell, maybe she would be far more timid. Pierre possessed very little of her mother's gifts, rather, they provided tiny insights into the minds of others, ways to upset or please them. And combined with the nearly full gift of her father's power, she was more than capable of playing matchmaker, her innocence and kindness keeping her well away from her father's path, and more steering her down the path of the hand controlling the dolls in a doll house. It was all a story to her, and she delighted in it, bringing two dragons together and then two others, swapping them, mixing and matching, her control over them was unparalleled. And yet, she never truly realized it. Pierre thought she was only placing objects in the right places for certain events to transpire, or talking to the right dragons at the right times to pull a certain topic into the thoughts of the other. She was certainly the most fitting for what Iitan wanted, but hardly anything he could use. |

For the longest time Pierre happily played the matchmaker, confident in her skill at bringing love into the hearts of all. That is, until she came to clan BOULDERSMASHER and met Ashlultum. She had continued to smush dragons together and everything had been as it always had been, with her pulling the strings. Then she laid her eyes on Ashlultum and the way she snapped at everybody, always angry, and thought "that is one dragon that really needs someone to take care of her".
Pierre set to task, imagining this to be a mildly challenging matchup, but nothing in her arsenal seemed to work. It was easy enough to bring suitors to Ashlultum, but she would always send them running with their tail between their legs, and leave Pierre grinding her teeth in frustration.
Several weeks into her campaign to get Ashlultum a mate, the dragon in question cornered Pierre and in no uncertain terms told the ridgeback to get the hell out of her head. She'd had enough of enthrallers and mindcontrollers to last her a lifetime. Pierre was confused, she had never used any sort of mindcontrol on anyone, she had just nudged people in the right direction, but never forced them. Ashlultum scoffed. Pierre could keep deluding herself all she wanted, as far as Ashlultum was concerned, but she better not come at her with those mindscrew powers.
With that she left and Pierre was left piecing together the shards of everything she thought was true about herself. This didn't deter her from trying to set Ashlultum up, though, if anything it made her more determined. Pierre would get her a mate and that would prove that she was really a great matchmaker!
