One thing about white iridescent that drives me absolutely batty is that you never quite know what colors it's going to pick up. On some breeds it's a nice pure white, others get randomly appearing rainbow highlights. But this guy takes one of the more irritating qualities of white iridescent and turns it to his advantage. The light green highlights that are so noticeable by his head follow the gradient of his spring shimmer wings beautifully, Where they're at their greenest, so is his white iridescent, so his green ear and the green highlights on his face and antlers blend perfectly. Then the green along his body fades out along the green to gold gradient of his wings, so that by the time they've changed color, his green highlights are gone too. His white gembond matches his white primary, so it provides a little bit of gleam and texture on his body. And then it bursts into display on the shimmering backdrop of his wings, carrying his white primary up to them, and making them shine all the brighter against that contrast.
