xxxxxA dragon with an eye for all plant life, Zeienka has dedicated her life to studying every root, flower, and leaf. She has written enough books on plants to fill a library of decent proportions, fleshing out information already known on various species. xxxxxFor a fee she'll explore anywhere to find rare and previously unknown species, gathering them and studying them for those who hire her. It matters not to her the reason why someone wants the information, all that matters is that she learns. xxxxxFriends tell her she's a little obsessed with her research but what do they know? They can't understand her desire to learn all there is, to know every secret of a species. To know more about them than any dragon she's ever met. Previous Assignment: xxxxxRumors spread of a blossom of utmost beauty, the legends passed down by dragons who have claimed to see it say that it puts everything else to shame. That seeing the bloom brings light and cheer to even the darkest of times. While there is no proof the bloom exists, excitement flourished as Greenkeepers began and dragons rushed out in droves to find it. xxxxxZeienka isn't one to get swept up in excitement and while she enjoys finding new things, she didn't believe much in the tall tales about the bloom. However, someone called and hired her to find the bloom and she simply couldn't turn down some free treasure... her book room needed expanded and it certainly wasn't going to pay for itself! xxxxxWhy did the caller want to find the bloom? Well, who was she to ask. They were probably an enthusiastic believer just like all the other dragons who were braving the dangerous woodlands to search for it. Some weren't brave enough to go themselves, or had other things to attend to, and she's sure she wasn't the only one hired by someone like that. xxxxxStill, the idea of finding something like that... She couldn't help but join in on the excitement, keeping far away from the other searchers and flitting through the brush and around branches and logs. She wouldn't be caught unaware by any trap laid by another dragon, or an animal ready to ambush unsuspecting prey. xxxxxIn the deepest parts of the woodlands she comes across dragons lying on the ground, eyes glazed over and limbs limp. Her first thought was whether it was a trap, a gas perhaps. Or they had brushed scales against a particularly dangerous plant, releasing toxins under their hard scales. xxxxxOut of the corner of her eye she catches a soft light emitting from under a leaf, excitement buzzed that she should immediately see what it is but caution told her to be careful. Gently she brushed aside the leaf, a wariness slipping up her spine warning her not to look directly at it. Already, just from viewing so little of it, she starts to feel dizzy and almost giddy. xxxxxIs this the bloom she was looking for...? This wasn't like in the legends, this was something else entirely. Something, she feels, that should not be messed with. Not even by her. A species best meant to be left alone. xxxxxWith deep regret she lets the leaf hide the bloom again. Flitting to the downed dragons, she takes out an orb and cracks it against a log. Light fills the underbrush, a wooshing breeze flutters over her, and they appear at the edge of the forest. Medics are already flocking their way, taking in the state of the dragons she's brought out with her. Aftermath: xxxxxTo this day she's still disappointed with having to leave the bloom behind. What kind of things could she learn from it? What gave it the ability to cause that reaction in dragons? Would she ever find anything like it again? xxxxxWhat's done is done, she tries to leave these questions behind her. Only sometimes entertaining herself with theories. She understands that even knowledge should have its limits. Sometimes something is simply too dangerous to allow anywhere near the wrong hands...
