"I guess...I guess it's time to say good bye." I said as I looked at Pisces, my mother. Feelings started welling up inside of me, plus a darkness I wish wasn't there. I pushed all of it back down as my brother sqeezed my hand. I looked over at him. The darkness squirmed unhappily as I smiled at my brother. Ever since that night the darkness hurt me when I was near my brother, it was getting worse. "I sure will miss you." Fisk said to me. I tried not to cry as I said "I'll miss you too." But I think a tear or two still leaked down my face. "Here's a map and a few other things that will help." My mother said as she handed a small satchel to me. "Be safe, my little Clementine." She added with a slight smile, despite the fact I was so much bigger than her. "I will." I promised her as I gave her a hug. "Here I go." I muttered to myself, working up the nerve to take that first wing beat of my journey to me new home. "Wait!" Fisk said and suddenly tackled me in a long hug that the darkness wasn't to happy about. "Be safe, be carful, and never stop smiling. I'll find a way to fix all of this." He told me as he continued to embrace me in a hug. "I'll do whatever you want as long as it will make you happy." I replied, the tears really falling now. We broke away from the hug and I looked into his eyes and said gently "Don't, we all have are battles we must face and this is mine. I won't have you wasting your life trying to fix it." He nodded his head as if he was agreeing but I knew him better than that. With a slightly amused sigh I said to him "You better write me often." And then took off before I could let myself think about it. Where next? I wondered as I flew away from the only home I knew. I could always stay in Arcane but Sornieth was so large! Surly I wanted to go further than that? I guess I'll just have to wait and see what happens... |
