Personality
Pern is extremely logical at all times and very rarely gives away any emotion aside from boredom and irritation. However, even those two emotions are expressed in strange ways unique to Pern. He has always been a rather odd character; preferring cold logic and reasoning to the study of social behavior, but ever since his clan threw him out he's been a closed book surrounded by a cloud of festering resentment and detachment. Although he rarely gets close to anyone, his coworkers are the closest things he has to friends and prefers their company above anyone else. Along with being a delivery owl, Pern is often summoned by far off clans to solve cases and mysteries. He will usually accept new cases but never forms emotional attachments to anyone involved in them and is indifferent to their outcomes. 		monument_light.png

History
Pern hatched in a clan that lived in the Sunbeam ruins near the Sundial Terrace in lairs that overlooked the uncharted western sea. It was clear from a young age that Pern was gifted with a high intellect and his clan, seeing an opportunity, began to tutor him in the most complex arts of knowledge and deduction. By the time of adolescence, Pern was a prodigy historian and detective.

With his powerful memory and wealth of knowledge, Pern's clan held him in high esteem and sought to build up his confidence by giving him increasingly difficult cases to solve on their behalf. In their minds, he was never wrong and would never fail them because he had never yet done so. Pern followed suite with his clan's beliefs that nothing could stop him until the day the clan gave him too much.

A case so strange and baffling that for the first time in his life Pern had no idea how to solve it. It was time sensitive and once the time was up, tragedy would befall the clan. The clan didn't realize this was a problem Pern was struggling to solve and when he failed and dragons were killed, they blamed Pern for not being smart enough to solve their problems. He was ostracized and all at once the proclaimed prodigy child was thrown away like another failed letter an author decided to scrap.

Life was hard for Pern on his own. He was clever enough not to get himself killed but he never had to worry about things like food and shelter before because his clan had been rich and lavished him with all the comforts of a prince. After a long journey, Pern found himself at the gates of the Clan of the Twisting Lights where the two gatekeepers were strange rainbowish creatures and clan founders were kind but somewhat absent leaders. There he met Hedwig who convinced him to become a delivery owl for her post and delivery service.
