K L A O

Klao stretched his wings out wide, the sun glinting off of gold-tipped feathers as he breathed the morning's air with a contented sigh.
It had been a tight squeeze from the entrance of the caves and he shook off the grains of rock from his body, the decoration draped over him jingling with every shake.

His claws flexed, sharpened talons ploughing through the dirt with ease.
"Morning, Sol." He greeted the Imperial that appeared behind him from the caves' entry. "Fine day for flight."
The younger Imperial squinted against the light and tilted his head at him but didn't reply. The Keeper had clearly pushed his obedience too far.

Klao's eyes narrowed subconsciously. She was a meddler, but she couldn't meddle with him; no one could replace Aurum or their bond, especially not a dragon so fearful of abandonment that he couldn't even talk to him. Knowing the Keeper, she had probably snatched the poor young drake from his nest to try and win his attention back. It wasn't going to work.

The day she sent his first-hatched off to the battlefield was the day she set in stone her place in his mind as a heartless Keeper.
He loved his son so fondly, so dearly, and she hacked their bond to pieces when she sent him into a war Klao had so desperately tried to shield him from.
Very few drakes avoid the call of dominance; very few drakes never stand on their podium of remembrance before committing themselves solely to the diety they have been pledged to.

Klao hoped Aurum would be one of the few, but he was not exempt.
He could not stand to think of Glory to Shadow, Honour in Exaltation. He lost his beloved son and longed to search for him, but he always stopped himself from leaving — too heavy with the fear of not finding what he hoped to, and he half wishes they had spent less time together so that his departure would not severe so deep their bond.

Not one for seeming unapproachable, Klao made a habit of not having enemies, except for one: Lupa. She stole what should've been his son's place in their lair, and she was the first of many Pearlcatchers in Adavar that would forever remind him that nothing is irreplaceable in the eyes of The Keeper... Not his son, nor his mate, not even him and especially not the young Imperial beside him.

He turned towards the silent drake tiredly. He didn't like the Keeper but it didn't mean he wanted to hate his adopted-son.
"Come," he muttered as he shuffled his body forwards ready for takeoff, "fly with me. I'll tell you the story of how Adavar came to be."

R O L E

Since the addition of Pearlcatcher's upon Umbral Point and within Adavar's militaria, Klao has since retired as a General and given up his place to fresh-faced Ebony.
Although some still call him the Golden General, his new position is being Adavar's Ambassador to other clans as well as Advisor to Umbra and a Peacekeeper.
Since Nocturne and Rosekeep stepped down from their positions of Clan Leaders, Klao's duty has changed only slightly. Instead of advising his friends on decisions, he now offers Umbra insight on the requests of the residents. Although she is not as relaxed nor caring as the monarchs were, she leads the clan well and Klao still ensures her points are followed and the clan is contented. He continues to keep the peace, dispel heresy, and pass on the words of Adavar's flight ambassadors.
