Armeria Laconic | Independent | Esoteric Etymology: Armeria is a genus of plants containing a plant called the sea pink. An arcane anomaly...beautiful...bizarre...dangerous. Filled with the energy of the arcane, channeled into prowess in physical combat rather than esoteric pursuits of strange incantations...but every slash of her claws or strike from her blade is obviously imbued with *something* magic. Born to a small clan inhabiting the Starwood Strand, Armeria was the youngest of 12 offspring her parents hatched. Due to the fact of her being the youngest, as well as her lack of interest in pursuing the arcane arts proper, she was often picked on by her oldest siblings. Of course, this consisted of nothing more than normal sibling rivalry, but early on it instilled in her a fiercely independent streak, as well as helping her hone her skills in both mental and physical defense. Very frequently at night, she'd sneak out of the clan's lair and into the luminescent forest nearby. To challenge herself from being able to see by the light of the surrounding glinting blossoms, she'd often blindfold herself, forcing her to rely on her other senses. Using only her keen hearing and scent, she could easily locate even a single falling petal, and easily slash it cleanly in half. As a result, she is equally competent at fighting blind as she is with full sight, and actually prefers blind fighting as a constant challenge to herself. Despite never bothering to learn magic, the blood of the Arcanist still flows in her veins. Her sheer mastery of her own physical form, as well as her keen ability to anticipate every move of her rivals definitely seem to be some sort of otherworldly gifts. Though she is quite mysterious and aloof (and definitely intimidating), she is, at her core, a very gentle and loving soul. However, the true mystery about her is how to get her to reveal that side to another. Whichever other dragon(s) are able to do so definitely have some kind of magic of their own. |
