Personality
In his early life a random Pearlcatcher, colored similar than himself trotted into his home and stepped in as his "mentor". Little Jackal wanted nothing more than to play with his sibling and parents but they gave him to this stranger for hours every day. Kanin was its name and he had to learn about the world and what he should and shouldn't do. But Jackal had a free spirit and even at his young age, he rebelled, wanting to break free from any shackles. Without the support of his parents and being estranged from his siblings, Jackal became what he is now. Opportunistic and taking any chance given to him, trusting no one.
And Jackal doesn´t care what you want only his desires matter. And he desires treasure.

He made a name for himself raiding caravans in shadow territory using the night and his mentor's knowledge about Sornieth to his advantage. (One of the only things he actually took over from his education) Meanwhile, he hired a lot of mercenaries doing his work while he coordinates them. The judge Lyrana suspects that he is a criminal but she can´t prove it. His mercenaries? Only protecting the clans' borders. His income? Trading and loan business.
And he has a waterproof alibi for anything.

The cynical Jackal isn´t only shady in business but also in matters of the heart. He wooed the beautiful and elegant Isere and they became mates. A big pile of salt in his former master's wound because Isere is Kanin's sister. His true heart lies with the smuggler Mat. Rough and fearless she is keeping him in check.
