Though Wisteria cherished the sons of her very first brood more than anything, Lex was never fond of the attention and let it all fall on his older brother. While Leopold was busy receiving anything his heart desired and their sister Aurora was out exploring behind mother's back, Lex remained reclusive, choosing to remain in the lair and focus on his studies. He remained entirely self taught, reading whatever he could get his claws on, which, was not much on the Isles. From a few pages in his books and word of mouth did he learn of Sornieth and was intrigued. Often the only time he would emerge from his family's cave was to converse with travelers who had come from the unfamiliar land. At a young age he had decided to set his sights on arriving at Sornieth, so that he may have a better place to apply his knowledge, as well as find a better source of reading material.
