Dark Creeper Carbon Cushion Colony
She was a phantom
She was touched by black
With every soul she could feel her presence stay
Defeat was a punishment after all and that was to feed her
Qualme
She had shimmered once
But now she was a shadow
She was wisdom
But was it the helpful wisdom to others?
Or would it be for death’s benefit?

― Poem by CeilingFen

Searchers after horror haunt strange, far places.

An ancient eldritch being of unknown origin, born from the purest form of the Shade. Once lively, booming with vile vitality; now her ghostly, translucent figure haunts those who seek a bane. Feeding on the damned souls of the deity-forgotten living entities, her power rises each passing century of her infinite existence.

Hovering in the mists of her own intoxicating breath, her appearance seems only to be an illusion. Her bleak shape moves slowly in the air, causing many living hearts around her flutter with apprehension. She is not alive but not dead either.

The wisdom she acquired throughout those long, lonesome years doesn't allow her the same egoism she had during her youth. Still ruthless and dreadful, caring solely for the most trustworthy clan members, she keeps an impenetrable barier around the perimeter of the clan's territories. The ability of sensing evil auras of others saved her close ones many times. Her gift is flawed though - the exception are other beings of the Shade who able to trick her perception of reality.

But once she senses a traitor within her barier's boundaries, there's no hope for them. Her revenge is sheer cruelty and aggression, she won't bat an eye at their desperate pleas to spare them nor to end their life faster. She feels no remorse for the inhumane things she has done to protect her clan. Qualme might be a merciless being but that only proves that her loyalty towards the clan is endless.

She perceives everyone in only black and white - she believes that there are either good or bad creatures in this world. Said creatures see her the same way, unwillingly and unknowingly being under the influence of her dark, judging energy. For some, her presence seems unnerving, making them feel the danger of her proximity. For other, her sweet-scented breath and slight tingle of chains draped around her fragile-looking body make their pulse relax, lulling them into deep slumber. Not always that is the sign of her affection though. Sometimes she uses that characteristic of hers to lessen the enemy's vigil in order to attack.

She's unpredictable, volatile and vicious. She's faithful, candid and caring. And you have only one chance to determine which one of these sides she's going to reveal to you. Choose wisely.

Qualme is very old, a deelpy shade-touched dragon who feeds on souls of harpies (and other creatures) defeated in the fight. She always floats in the air like a ghost, she doesn't even need wings to fly. You can always see a silver mist surrounding her which makes others sleepy if they stand too close. When she moves you can hear a slight tinkle of her chains. But it's not her appearance which makes most dragons freak out - it's her voice. She always whispers and it sounds as if she spoke with an echo of a couple of other voices in the background. Her name means 'painful death' in Tolkien's language even though when she kills, it's painless and really fast. Her main role in the clan is protecting it from black magic and curses.[/indent]

[work_in_progress]
She came out of nowhere. On the first day the members of the clan saw her, she was just an enormous yet faint figure in the distance, hiding in the thick morning mist. Some thought it was a ghost; most didn't believe their own eyes. This incident caused a lot of chaos and fear among the young dragons but the feeling vanished as quickly as it appeared.

The next day came and went, and then another one. The life went on for most but Morgoth, who was very young at that time, started endless amount of quarrels and discussions about the thing he saw during the hunt. He vainly tried to convince other clan members to change the location again, to go South where it's safer and warmer. The apprehension of something bad happening in the close future was causing him many sleepless nights. He was certain there was something following them, something big and evil.

And then the first hatchling died.

He was just a couple of weeks old Skydancer boy...

It would be nothing out of ordinary if he was sick or hungry but that was the wealthiest time for the dragon group in months. His closest friends, two young Nocturne dragons, and him were playing in the foggy evening near the river and then, suddenly, the boy was dragged into mist so thick, it was completely opaque. It was hard to understand the tale of the lads because of the fear that shook their whole bodies.

Morgoth volunteered first, then Iorweth, the clan's most skilled warrior, and Mistle, the healer, in case the boy was found wounded. They set off as soon as they could - with the Sun rising and sending warm rays through the piercing cold of almost ending night. It took them the whole day and most of the night of constant searching and calling the boy's name until they decided to give up. On the way back, with the faint glow of villages in the distance, they split up in case they missed something earlier. It was unbelievable how far they wandered without any trace of the hatchling. It was at least 10 miles in every direction possible from the place of the disappearance.

[...]

At that time, this nameless clan consisted of completely different members; they all were just rebellious teenagers who escaped their families in the search for adventures. But after she joined the clan most of them abruptly dissapeared and then never came back...
