Song is Battle Scars by Paradise Fears

okay so this lore is gonna be a mess if it's all here so I'll probably move most of it to other dragons since they're related to this once I actually get my projects done

"He'll never make it out there," his father said where he used to think Nebula wouldn't notice. Nebula was used to hearing this, and yet every time it stung a little more, until a winter night when he left without a word. Nebula was only a few years old as he was flying away from the Starwood Strand, and yet his magic was far weaker then his siblings.

"The darkest nights bring the brightest stars..."
Nebula looked around, only to realize that a young nocturne had snuck up behind him. Within an instant, the nocturne had disappeared once again. Nebula had wearily backed up, not knowing where the nocturne would appear next. "It's alright! I won't hurt you, my name is Moon," she called out, "What brings you here anyway?" Nebula hesitantly responded as Moon took him to her clan. She explained that the clan usually doesn't like outsiders, but explained the issues that the clan has had recently. Nebula agreed to help as Moon took him to one of her sibling's nests, hoping he could figure out what was behind this. The young girl had a severe wound on her back, but after a while Nebula was able to figure out what may have caused it, however he was scared to tell Moon. "Do you know if she'll be alright?" Moon asked. "I'm sorry," he responded, "You and your clanmates have to leave here while you still can." Moon simply nodded before leaving the den. Nebula fell asleep in that same den and dreamt of her. "Thanks for everything you've done here," Moon whispered. It was then that Nebula realized shared her sisters’ scar, however it was extremely faded. "I must remain with her, but tonight I gift you with shadow's blessing." As Nebula woke up, he felt magic flow through him for the first time...

"The winds of change are finally here..."
"Wait up!" Nebula called as he flew after a large spiral at a sluggish pace. While the spiral quickly snaked through the Reedcleft Ascent, the wind continually knocked Nebula around until he was forced to land. "What's a Shade-taken dragon like you doing around here?" the spiral growled, "Don't bother trying to hide that mark either, there's been shadow dragons like you all over the place lately," he continued, preparing a gust of wind. Nebula noticed a few dragons approaching them and carefully responded, "What do you mean? I'm from the Starfall Isles!" the spiral shot back, "That's what they all say, you won't trick me that easily!" The approaching dragons landed nearby, Nebula and the spiral both realized they were all marked. "Does it really matter where I'm from at this point?" Nebula said in a low voice, "We're on the same side here, and we have to drive these brutes off." The spiral nodded in agreement as he attempted to push them back. "It's been a while, Breeze! Care to finally join us?" one of the dragons said as it shot up in the air to pounce Nebula's new ally. Breeze roared at the large coatl, sending a massive gale directly at it while Nebula clawed many of the other dragons. After exchanging a few more blows, the marked dragons retreated. Breeze simply nodded at Nebula once again before flying off, leaving Nebula to continue his journey. A soft voice echoed in his head, "I'll leave you with wind's blessing." Nebula felt another surge of power as he too flew off.

"The tides are changing once more..."
Nebula landed at the waters edge near the Fishspine Reef at dawn. This had been the shortest flight he has has had since the start of this journey, especially since the wind was at his back the whole trip. Nebula could sense that there was something waiting for him to come. Without a second thought, he dove into the water and followed the current to the bottom of the reef. Looking out towards the Leviathan Trench in the distance, Nebula noticed a blurry figure watching him.
