Mara lived in the Viridian Labyrinth all their life. They hatched there and were raised there. Their Clan resided in the Gladevines, and was filled with happy dragons who wanted nothing more than to swing in the trees and tend their gardens. Mara felt atrociously out of place. Their heart called them to the deep dark, and they would dream of travelling to the Tangled Wood. Unbeknownst to their mother, they had fashioned an effigy of the Shadowbinder out of twigs.
As they grew older, they announced their intentions to travel to their family. They expressed outrage at such a proposal. How could someone of their blood leave what has been their home for generations?! Absolutely not! So they left in morning, with nary a goodbye.
Mara took residence in the Shrieking Wilds, a place that was close enough to the darkness they hoped for. During their time there, they met a great Imperial, golden as they were, and looking for company. They shared a evening meal, and he told them he had journeyed from the Tangled Wood, much to Mara's excitement. After a brief discussion, a deal was struck. Mara would travel with him under his protection, and he would have their company.
As they traveled together, they found themselves falling in love. They were Mates before reaching the Tangled Wood, and were happy to spend their lives together. Mara thought dreamily of a prosperous future, where they and Yana would grow old, raising a plethora of children together in the name of Shadowbinder. Mara, unfortunately, had no talent of foresight.
Mara is the Ambassador for Nature in the Grove, having spent most of their life in the Labyrinth and having discovered a natural gift for debate.
