Biography

Nidhogg: Acolyte, serpent which gnaws at the base of Yggdrasil in Norse mythology.

This kiddo was already named when I adopted him, I guess because of colouration? I thought it was a cool name and I saw the movie with Jude Law, so I kept it instead of using a scroll, and apparel that came with him suited too! Wildclaws are my favourite FR species, because they look like raptors (my favourite types of dinosaurs). I also used a shot of the movie in the bio so I thought yeah why not lmao

EDIT: Hey, he's all dressed up now, and had more kids. Be proud pbg146 :3 Lowkey though no one knows where tf Contagion came from it just kinda....appeared. And it's chilling like Death on vacation.

The Creature known as Contagion is a sentient pestilence, impartial to all living creatures. It feels very little, but has the capacity to give so much to those who may seek it out in some misguided attempt to get attention. Of course, they only get what's coming to them when It deems them ready. It pays particular attention to the average soul whom Lady Fortune deals a bad hand. You can't expect to change that, no matter how hard you work in your lab pioneering some cure-all drug. Besides, if It was less impartial, life would run errant and flourish without limitations. Too much life cannot be supported. After all, the plagues of the earth are not inherently evil, they just lack the capacity to care. Contagion, however, is not thought of as evil, considering Its disinterest in the dragons found here. It seems begrudgingly accepting of the balance of nature, fully aware that it is only a visitor to this vast, viridian landscape. It has only created Life for now. Legends speak of the great misfortune It wrought upon so many others before It arrived. Tales of death follow this creature wherever It goes, terrible accounts of suffering and woe. It seems proud of them.

No one is sure how It got the Infectionist's Emblem that takes pride of place in the middle of Its forehead. It is not considered a real Representative in the mortal scheme of things, but It is probably the most fitting one. It came to the Lair of Many References from far, far away one dark and dreary afternoon. Rumour has it that Alduin himself summoned It from the dark tomes he stole from Amara. However, this does not seem to be true. For it bears the marks of the Wrymwound, of Rot and Plague. I believe it was sent as an undead herald of sorts, an effort on Plaguebringer’s part to send back that what was once her sister’s. She has never liked our penchant for necromancy.

It does not regard Alduin in any way important, since Alduin's time has not come. Not yet. it does not appreciate the company of the Other,Vitality incarnate, since Its fun is...heavily moderated by the Other's presence. The Creature seems jealous of the Other at times, and has since built itself an acolyte.

For now though, the Creature of Pestilence bides its time in the Lair of Many References. It waits with an eerie calm...when It isn't asleep. It appears to enjoy bogbathing and Musa's mango smoothies. However, it seems to grow increasingly agitated in the present of Yggdrasil following the discovery of Dweller.

Short Writing Piece:
The Meeting - Contagion & Yggdrasil
Contagion is a 2011 American medical action thriller film directed by Steven Soderbergh. The film features an ensemble cast that includes Marion Cotillard, Bryan Cranston, Matt Damon, Laurence Fishburne, Jude Law, Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Winslet, and Jennifer Ehle. The plot of Contagion concerns the spread of a virus transmitted by fomites, attempts by medical researchers and public health officials to identify and contain the disease, the loss of social order in a pandemic, and finally the introduction of a vaccine to halt its spread. To follow several interacting plot lines, the film makes use of the multi-narrative "hyperlink cinema" style, popularized in several of Soderbergh's films.

Soderbergh and screenwriter Scott Z. Burns had collaborated on The Informant! (2009). Following that film's release, Burns brought up the idea of producing a medical thriller film depicting the rapid spread of a virus, which was inspired by various pandemics such as the 2003 SARS epidemic and the 2009 flu pandemic. To devise an accurate perception of a pandemic event, Burns consulted with representatives of the World Health Organization as well as noted medical experts such as W. Ian Lipkin and Lawrence "Larry" Brilliant. Principal photography started in Hong Kong in September 2010, and continued in Chicago, Atlanta, London, Geneva, and San Francisco until February 2011.

Contagion premiered at the 68th Venice Film Festival in Venice, Italy on September 3, 2011, and went on general release on September 9. The film was acclaimed by critics, who praised the narratives and the performances of various actors and actresses. It was also well received by scientists, who praised its accuracy. Commercially, the film was a box office success. Budgeted at $60 million, Contagion took $135 million in box office revenue during its theatrical run.
