A recluse, Fen lives on the fringes of the clan, only just can he be considered a part of the lair. He keeps to himself along their borders, though he can be found anywhere along their length; from the marshy swamp by the sea, to the grassy plain lands further south. Predicting his whereabouts at any given time is nigh impossible. But there is a little copse of trees, just where the plains begin and there strings of feathers and bone hangs from tree branches, moss sways in curtains to keep out prying eyes, chimes jingle in the breeze and pelts are arranged beneath a rickety wooden roof barely deserving of the name.

Approaching this location is not advisable. Fen is fond of traps. He and Salem, his familiar companion, frequently go on hunting trips (though never within the boundaries of the clan which is the extent of his consideration for others really). These traps and the manner in which he decorates his den are usually plenty to keep visitors away. However, sometimes his space is violated. His skill with tonics and balms is peerless and his expertise is often sought after to treat injuries or illness. He refuses to get involved with Tarryn’s mixtures, however.

And while he silently oozes distaste at being spoken to, he never seems too bothered by requests for his help. In fact, Salem makes weekly deliveries to Inerri’s hatchery of some common salves and medicinal concoctions. This is probably to minimise the intrusions of his space but it is no less appreciated for that. However, Fen’s magic is rather kinaesthetic and for most treatments involving more than a simple medicine he must physically touch his patient. Sometimes, this can be disconcerting for the individual getting treated as Fen is by no means very good with bedside manner. That said, after his healing magic does its work, usually the patient is left feeling better than they have in a long time, better than they knew they could.

Getting Fen to speak is often an effort in futility. Generally, the only things to come out of his mouth are brusque warnings or some sort of ill omen and they’re always delivered in a bored deadpan. He’s very cheerful, clearly. He never talks about himself or his past or what he considers to be his primary occupation. Though he is mostly considered for his healing skills, he also tends to the Temple Tree, sending offerings and prayers to the gods and often assisting other dragons in their own worship. His feelings on Khazamaran’s self-proclaimed godhood remain unknown.

ORIGIN / Not much is known about Fen or where he came from, only that whatever place gave birth to him is somewhere no doubt it best avoided. Somewhere with marshes and long dry grass and forbiddingly slender trees with a permanent mist obscuring the surrounds. A place where magic is sacred.

Fact / The precise reasons for Fen being called a priestess rather than a priest are unclear, but it seems to be a title assigned for his spiritual and healing talents rather than anything else. Although he is the most religious dragon in the clan and he offers tokens ~~or sacrifices maybe~~ at the shrines of the Temple Tree on a regular basis.

Likes / Quiet, isolation and practicing his magic. In spite of how much he seems to hate company, he does quite enjoy being able to help others. He has a fondness for windy days, too. Something about the way it stirs his fur or perhaps the smells it carries… it’s nostalgic.

Dislikes / He appears to hold as much distaste for social interaction as Venin. A true feat. He maintains an almost perpetual silence and whenever someone sets foot in his murky portion of the lair his antipathy is practically palpable.

Interests / His particular brand of witchcraft is ambiguous at best and sinister at worst (he and Tarryn would probably get along just fine if they could bother speaking), but other than maintaining his talents, he has only one other known hobby: hunting. For sport, as much as for food, he seems to derive the most pleasure from the hunt and subsequent trapping of prey.
