Biography
Peat
Clan cook, from where the wetlands meets the Earth lands
Peat lived alone in the bog. He named himself after the bog, as a matter of fact. He couldn't really remember his parents or early life very well. He hunted and scavenged, finding lots of little ingredients and delicacies to indulge in his one passion: cooking. After each amazing meal, he cleaned his little hut (which he had built himself), and then settled onto the roof to watch the stars at night.
He liked his off-the-grid life but there was one thing he was missing. Nobody but him got to appreciate his inventive and delicious recipes.
Well, okay, a couple things. He had these weird neighbors, far enough away that you'd think they wouldn't come bother him, but come they would, trading him trinkets, usually for food but sometimes, weirdly, for stories.
During one of these visits he'd somehow got his claws on one of Eros' romantic stories, done up in scroll form with little drawings. For whatever reason it made such an impression on him he ended up ultimately eschewing a normal Bogsneak outlook of not needing anybody, and strongly desiring a mate.
As it is a bit difficult to meet one in the middle of a lonely bog, he inquired in a very offhand way during the next trading visit whether or not Clan Troubadour were perhaps in need of a dedicated cook.
But of course they were! Elated, Peat insisted on towing his hut all the way to his new home, which he did with a combination of magic, wheels, brute strength, and pure determination. He still cooks delicious meals and then settles on top of it to watch the stars. His new friends are very pleased with his helpful and tasty skills.
He even met a lovely, shimmering lady of his own Boggy persuasion (he's unusual for a Bogsneak, but not a complete anomaly, and fairly un-attracted to other breeds). This sparkly and independent queen certainly required some wooing, but thankfully he had Eros and Ballad to help (ineptly) in this endeavor.
She had a nest with him but was largely uninterested in his wooing. Disappointed, he resigned himself to not really having the kind of relationship he wanted, until Palette came around. Now he's happily paired and happily cooking, watching the stars each night and thanking his lucky ones.
