Vicious

Vicious is not the dragon her name implies. Though she looks intimidating and venemous, she actually serves as the clan healer. Through many mysterious and arcane rituals, she delivers the clan from illnesses and purifies most of the food. She also purifies the dragons that integrate into the Shadowfall clan from the plague elemental clans.

Her former mate and all of her hatchlings have gone to serve under the Shadowbinder. After the death of her three young hatchlings during a raid, her mate Teolun decided he too would be serving the Shadowbinder. This was a common thing for a grieving parent to do, as it was the only way to commune with a lost loved one. Vicious however, knew she could not. As the only healer in the clan, deep misfortune would befall her clan if she were to go as well.
This greatly angered Teolun. He begged and pleaded with her for hours, growing angrier and angrier the more she refused. Finally, he renounced her as his mate and ignored her existence. After being treated with oils and paints to mark his submission and service to the Shadowbinder, Teolun flew away with the wrapped bodies of his children clutched to his chest. Vicious watched silently from the ground. Once Teolun was out of view, she collapsed to the ground and sobbed brokenly.

Garm, the clan's death mage, had taken her in to his lair that day to comfort her. What started out as companionship and friendship eventually grew into love. Together, the world seems a bit less grim.
