Edit/Note: This lore has been replaced and needs to be completely rewritten.

Kaleen's work with medicinal plants started out as the farthest thing from any kind of noble pursuit- as soon as she realized that different plants sprouted from and eventually created different looking seeds, she wanted to collect them all. And since she was too young to know how impossible that was, she threw herself into the challenge with a child's wholehearted energy.

As she grew older and learned to care for her gardens well enough that they didn't constantly depend on her magic to keep them alive, she ended up with lots of spare plants. It seemed like a waste to just get rid of everything that had been growing so well every time she was able to check their seeds off her collection list, so she asked around after uses for all these plants and seeds, and was quickly told by the local healers that there was actually a LOT of use for the plants she didn't want any more.

In just a few years she ended up with a half dozen gardens- some carefully tended to as a way to help support local healers, some for experiments with her seed collecting, and others gone wild.

Eventually there were no more new seeds to be found close to home, and she started sending out mail all over the world, offering trades- her useful healing herbs to keep medics stocked up, in exchange for new seeds. As an additional perk, the messenger who most often brought her mail to her, an Imperial named Emre, was very cute and became a close friend. The more attached they grew to each other, the longer he would stay with each visit, until after a while he became not so much an occasional visitor as he was her new roommate who went on long trips to keep up with his deliveries.
