    The Estate is the last place that Her Royal Highness Princess Madeleine wants to be right now. She is the heir to the throne of Clan Scintillant, a large and wealthy society from the Sunbeam Ruins. A tragedy occurred whilst she was sailing around the coasts of Sornieth on her family's vast cruise ship; a storm caused all the dragons on board to become shipwrecked on the shores of our island. The captain lost control of the ship and it sank, right down to the bottom of the sea.

    Many treasures belonging to the Royal Family had been on the ship. Now, they are lost to the ocean. One of the heirlooms lost was a beautiful piece, known as Sunchaser Jewelry. This priceless accessory had been passed down to Madeleine by her grandmother. The young Pearlcatcher was extremely fearful of what her parents would say if she told them that the jewellery was missing. She was forbidden to wear it outside of the palace grounds, and shouldn't have taken it onto the ship; she feared being harshly punished, or worse, stripped of her royal title. There was no way that this could happen. She would simply have to ensure the piece was found. And the dragon to do it would be Argo.

    Argo is Madeleine's faithful partner. He is a commoner, but is incredibly devoted to the princess. A member of the Royal Guard, the King and Queen immediately took a liking to Argo and introduced him to Madeleine. They strongly recommended that the young princess should choose him as her mate. She agreed, not because she was in love with Argo, but because she knew how pleased this would make her parents. Besides, he is a good dragon; loyal, kind, and strong-willed. When Madeleine informed him that her Sunchaser Jewelry was missing, Argo did not hesitate in offering to go and find it. Madeleine was thrilled. However, she also felt a pang of guilt; she knew that finding the jewels would be perilous, and that her mate only agreed out of adoration for her. Sadly she does not feel the same way towards him.

    Madeleine is a dragon who is incredibly torn. She wishes to uphold family tradition and honour (and enjoys her glamorous lifestyle), but at the same time, she just wants to be free to make her own choices and live a normal life.
