~~~"Every puzzle has an answer."~~
Layton True Gentleman Theme: Professor Layton's Theme From: Professor Layton and the Curious Village Though it may not seem like it at first glance, Layton is an avid archaeologist, having served for a time as a professor at a school in Light flight territory. He's recently decided to explore the mysteries of the Twisting Crescendo, thus the move into Wind flight. He's always exceedingly polite, but keeps a rather untidy room. Despite this, many of the clan have been known to spend afternoons with the gentlemanly Imperial drinking tea and listening to stories of his past explorations. (From which it has been learned he as a much more vast skill set than one would think, including fencing, engineering and inventing, organ playing, excellent physical fitness, and of course, puzzle solving). He also enjoys giving out little puzzles. Can you solve the Puzzle? As mentioned, Layton enjoys giving puzzles to the random passerby! Think you know the answer to one? Shoot me a message and potentially earn a little prize. :) |
Lair Tour (Zephyr Steppes)
Mira leads you only a little ways up the hall before stopping at a door. "Guess what? Last stop!" She says merrily as she gives the door a knock. An Imperial opens the door. "Now, who could it be? Ah, Mira! And I see you've brought a guest. Please, come in." He waves you in with a flick of his tail. This room is an absolute mess. Or at least, some of it? Every inch of wall-space is taken up by either a bookshelf or table. The bookshelves seem mostly tidy, though there are a few sections where a stack of books seems missing. These books appear to be stacked on the tables against the walls, along with a large amount of papers, light sources, tools, and artifacts. A lone low table placed on a large floor-rug seems spared from the chaos. Please forgive the mess, I do tend to get caught up in my work. I'm Professor Layton, an archaeologist. I can also make you some tea, if you like?" Mira answers much more politely than you would have expected. Sorry, Professor. We're just on a tour. I'm afraid we don't have the time to stay too long." Layton nods. "Well then, how about a puzzle? Here, I've written it down for you." He hands you a sheet of paper with some text on it:
One of your kind friends has given you a gift! Unfortunately, it's locked inside a block of ice. Your friend said you can use five 150 ml cups of hot water to melt 30 g of ice, and that you'd have to work out how many cups of hot water are necessary to melt the 2 kg ice block that's around it. You've taken the block inside to find some cups for hot water, but how many do you need?
"Do let me know when you think you've solved it, though!" Layton calls as Mira guides you out. As you wander toward the door, you vaguely wonder what will happen next?
