Sacredscream

Backstory
Sacredscream was once known as Eli, and held a lofty position as a esteemed advisor to the queen of a large arcane clan. He was devoted to his work and his queen, who he had grown up with. He served her to the end, and the end, it did come.

After turning down a proposal towards her daughter, Princess Neffie, from a brutal plague prince, the clan was under attack. The mirror pack showed no mercy and soon the clan was engulfed in flames and most of the dragons perished in the fight to save their queen and princess. Eli was given a very important task of helping Princess Neffie escape with her guard. He led them into an old temple and down into a secret chamber, equipped with powerful scrolls and ancient magic.

Using the supplies available to him, Sacredscream wiped the memories of the princess and her companion, giving them the names Fenn and Elric, and changing their elemental alignment from arcane to wind, and transported them to the Windswept Plateau. Such a magic should not have been possible, especially as Eli was not a mage, but it was as if there was a stronger force aiding him. After the deed was done, Eli emerged to find he was the sole survivor of the attack. He changed his name to Sacredscream in honour of those who died fighting while he was fleeing.

It was a heavy weight to bear, carrying the last memory of the great Clan Sonder, so he devoted himself to documenting its history. He spent months in the Observatory, writing down all he could remember of his old clan. Then, one day, as he was flying over the scorched ruins of the city, he saw something impossible: an egg.

With the prospect of a new hatchling to take care of, Sacredscream could hardly continue his hermitage, and he made is way to seek out Fenn and Elric. Thankfully, he found the small clan the two had created before his daughter, Solo hatched.

Fenn and Elric had no memory of Sacredscream, but the old tundra was only too happy to build new relationships with the founders of Clan Yonder. He set himself up as clan historian and librarian, continuing the work he had begun in the Observatory. He documented the history of the clan through Fenn's reign, Azra's tyrannical takeover, the rebellion, Adrika's reign, the transformation of the clan into The Inn Over Yonder, and the docking of the airship inn to become Iyonda Landing, a port town under the leadership of Iago. Though Solo did not work with him forever, Sacredscream continued to have a string of apprentices. He forged friendships with many dragons, and as the memories of pain faded from his tundra brain, he found joy again.

Ionda Landing, however, did fall. Fenn and Elric went to serve the Windsinger, and Sacredscream stuck with a handful of survivors as they found a new kingdom to join. However, Crescendo Isle was hardly home, and as the queen of the floating island grew more power hungry, and the citizens turned further and further into a life of crime, Sacredscream couldn't help but wish for the days he had written of, the golden days of Fenn and Elric's clan.

When he received Fenn's letter announcing her return, Sacredscream dropped everything and traveled to Windkeep Tower with a handful of dragons looking for a fresh start. His airship library was built into the structure of the tower, and he once again set to work among friends, in the place he truly belonged, the place he could be happy. However, he couldn't help but think it will only be a matter of time before this clan falls too, leaving Sacredscream once again the survivor of another disaster.



Personality
Sacredscream is old and wise, carrying heavy burdens of loss and great memories of joy. Though he has a better memory than most tundras, time still claims his memories and he must rely on his extensive historical writings to remember old friends and days gone passed. He is wholly devoted to Fenn, following through on the last request of her mother, his closest friend. He will do anything to help her clan prosper the way it should.

Sacredscream can be a bit of a hermit and does not often come out to social gatherings, but he is more than happy to help those who seek his help, especially if it is a research question or doesn't require him to leave his library.



Current Life
Sacredscream works as the historian and librarian of Windkeep Tower. Though he does not like to leave his library, he will occasionally leave to spend time with his friends. He is currently training Merry as his apprentice, and is having troubles convincing the excitable fae not to embellish his historical findings and turn them into overly heroic tales and legends, rife with historically inaccuracies.
