LORE Salvador lost their way. They had lost the inspiration to create artworks. They had been to many places and had met many dragons. But they felt every painting they did was bland. It wasn't that the paintings looked bad - Salvador's arts were always praised - they just didn't tell a story. Lying in a marigold field watching the butterflies, Salvador sighed. If only something could snap them out of their art block. Bonk. Suddenly a blur of colours flashed before Salvador's eyes. A larger dragon had tumbled over Salvador's head. "Ah...sorry I was testing out a new stunt, I didn't see ya! Hyperion is the name, being a stuntman is my....erm are you alright?" Salvador was staring at Hyperion. This random dragon who crashed into them was extremely colourful. They wore all colours, their skin was as sublime as their own and Hyperion's excited and over the top intro was. "Marvellous!" Salvador's eyes light up. "I've never seen a dragon as bright as you! Both in colour and in personality!" Hyperion blushed. "R...Really? "In fact may I ask if I can paint you? I feel painting you will take me out of my situation, your picture won't just be beautiful but will tell a story of an unique dragon!" "Ah a painter! Oooh yes please paint me! Situation? You lost your mojo? Yeah I was there, didn't want to dress like this due to the bullying I was getting, but then I found CLAN BALDERDASH, they didn't care, we have all sorts of unique dragons! Our Clan accepts those who are turned away from other clans and laughed at, and we are allowed to be ourselves!" Hyperion was beside himself, he sounded so excited -noted by how fast he spoke- to be able to talk about his clan. "Allowed to be ourselves?" Salvador thought to themselves. HE HE HE HIM HIM HIM - Salvador tighten up at remembering all the times they were mis-gendered. They came out once to an another painter they admired, to be just laughed at or others saying their gender does not exist. Salvador never spoke about their gender again. But here was a dragon. A dragon telling them there is a place where there are many dragons who are allowed to be themselves. "Can you take me to your clan please? I'd like to meet these dragons" Salvador finally broke free of their art block. Their paintings would no longer be bland as they would tell stories of a clan of unique dragons who found a place to belong. Who knows maybe these paintings can even inspire other dragons to join Clan Balderdash. Salvador smiled as Hyperion nodded. They began to leave the field of marigolds, a few butterflies fluttering behind them. |
