"Have you heard what happened to..."

"Naturally curious, she wants to know whether the old stories she learned growing up are true, which has led her on many adventures. She likes to listen and ask insightful questions, but sometimes comes off as a bother. She is a bit of a gossip and a reputation for spreading bad news.

Curse: Due to the dark magic in this dragon's lineage, when she feels scared, her spines grow out of every surface of her body. She must wait for them to fully emerge and shed before she is herself again." - ixris

Most hatchlings wouldn't be thrilled to have parents who were cursed and had visions of disasters, but Sentis reveled in it - she loved being the first to know about something, especially something bad, as that meant she could be the first to share it with someone else. It wasn't only present and future events that interested her, though. Stories of the past also intrigued her. Her father's tales were often difficult to understand, as he frequently lapsed into strange tongues whenever he got worked up about something, but she loved her mother's stories about her family and her time at sea. Having satisfied her curiosity concerning most of the dragons in her surroundings, she decided that she wanted to experience the sea for herself, bade her parents farewell, and set off, determined to have a proper adventure.

The sea wasn't quite what she had expected. She was used to firm ground beneath her feet and discovered that she was prone to seasickness. The crew kept her well away from the canvas - the first time a storm brought a mast down, it scared her and her spines emerged, ripping a sail. The crew eyed her sideways after that and muttered about her when they thought she wasn't listening, so she knew it was time to leave. But to where?

The only thing she really enjoyed about sailing was visiting the various ports - always new dragons and new tidbits of news and information and gossip. It was in Lantern Port in the Starfall Isles that she head someone mention the lepidopterist Malu on the nearby island of Prufrock. Sen knew that it just had to be her mother's father that they were talking about...what were the odds of two coatl having the same name and scholarly interest, after all? Much to the relief of the ship's crew, she informed them that she was going to quit the seafaring life and instead boarded a ferry that took her across to the island of Prufrock, where she asked every dragon she met where she could find her grandfather. The residents were confused by her wording, as they assumed she meant a snapper and there were very few snappers on the island. They finally realized she was talking about Malu and were further confused because they didn't even know the antisocial scholar had a daughter, much less a granddaughter, but they helped her locate him in one of the gardens studying a butterfly.

Sentis could tell her grandfather didn't believe her, but he was polite enough, inviting her to stay in a spare room in his lair. Things seemed to be going well until she was startled in the middle of the night when fetching a drink of water by unexpected brightly-colored movement. Out came the spines, and out came her grandfather at her shriek. She figured that he would kick her out right then...surely he would deny being related to an extra prickly snapper. But instead she was comforted, in a slightly awkward but endearing way. It turned out that what had spooked her were her grandfather's terrariums - some butterflies had emerged from their cocoons and were fluttering their wings behind the glass walls.

Sentis has made a place for herself in the clan as an information broker. She is intrigued by the spirits and does her best to stay up to date on their current dramas, and she also makes frequent trips to and from Lantern Port to gather intelligence from the mainland.

She was overjoyed when her mother Calamity came to visit her, though privately she worries about her mother's dark visions and the possibility that such portents might one day awaken in her own mind.
