Oh but there's no possible way a dragon from the Starfall Isles could be bad right? That's what I hear. Arcane is a land of sweet and innocent pixie dragons who spend all their time with noses buried in books. Arcane dragons are the friendly and clever ones. The ones who love magic. They're all most gentle dragons you could meet.

Alright first off, I'm insulted. That's a sick stereotype. Just like all Shadow dragons are immature, and all Nature dragons are hippies. That's not the thing you see when you look at certain dragons from Arcane. For the sake of time, I'll zero in on one. This one, well, she was always a bit different.

She was born to rather negligent parents. They cared only for their books. Never the dragon, a small black Skydancer, they were supposed to care for and love no matter what. The most they did for her was give her a pretty name and teach her to read. The rest would evidently be up to her.

Mavis was her name. From the first moment, she was very stubborn and opinionated. She was a rebel who did whatever she wanted, and no one could boss her around. Mavis automatically loved the adventure travelling offered. And since her parents didn't really care, she left first chance she got.

At first, the Starfall Isles were everything she could dream of. It felt like she could fly over the pink landscape forever. Never in her life had the teenage Skydancer experienced this level of freedom. But she grew bored of the scenery. The teen decided to leave her home and try something new.

Mavis had no fear upon leaving. Because her parents had never warned her about the terrible things out there. She never looked back either. But obviously something would have to go wrong. She wouldn't have turned out like this if something hadn't.

A few months passed, and she began to teach herself how to fight and use basic offensive spells. It just seemed like a good idea, since she'd be on her own for a while. But being educated in battle would not be enough. The Skydancer could not have predicted this, so she kept on as usual. She made a more permanent home in the Sunbeam Ruins. The Light region.

No one really bothered her out there. The Sunbeam Ruins held similar qualities to her Arcane home, and twice as much mystery. The whole place was so much fun to explore and fly until her wings were sore. Mavis found no problems with her new living environment. Not that she was really looking. The Skydancer was too busy having fun.

Unfortunately, her daily fights with monsters and Beastclans didn't go unnoticed. A clan of thugs saw her locked in battle with a Longneck. And apparently, they liked what they saw. They approached her, a huge Ridgeback leading them. He grinned at her.

He introduced himself as Blade, then told her he liked the way she moved. Which resulted in a swift claw to his face. At this, Blade grinned. As it was, Mavis was very defensive. She didn't understand what this group of idiots wanted from her.

She knew it would be easier to survive with numbers, so when Blade offered her a home, she accepted. Maybe she'd actually learn something from these barbarians. But there was more to it than that. Something she didn't know. They weren't just a clan of tough dragons.

That aside, they trained her and trained her until she had nothing more to learn. She knew how to break a dragon's neck in twelve different ways. She knew how to conjure spells to burn her opponents skin and flesh right off their bones. Mavis learned how to kill, and she used all of her knowledge against the Beastclans. That's when her new “family” came clean to her.

They were actually a group of highly trained mercenaries who killed for money. Which did explain why one of them would randomly disappear for weeks every now and again. Mavis was startled by the news, but she accepted it. If her clan killed in their free time, there was nothing she could do about it. The catch was, Blade want her to be a mercenary too.

At first, she thought they were joking. She'd never killed anyone before. No dragons, at least. She would never kill an innocent, or so she told herself. But she was more than willing to help them on missions. Mavis would keep watch, and she'd even hold the targets still as Blade slit their throat.

But she had yet to deliver the death blow. That's what made Blade feel he had to do what he did. He confronted her about it, and told her that if she was not able to kill, she was no member of his clan, and therefore she was a trespasser. He attacked her, and the battle lasted hours. They were too evenly matched.

Finally, Mavis caught Blade off guard. And she killed him with a final blow to his heart. It was the first blood she'd spilled. And when she got a taste of the power, she liked it. She liked it a lot. So she turned to the other members, expecting them to submit. But they were furious. They charged her. And Mavis would not have survived if not for Alheran.

All of them ganged up on her, and Mavis fought back, her thirst for blood making her throat feel dry. But there were too many. Before she let them kill her, a young wildclaw popped out of the bushes, tossing some kind of pollen at them. Like acid, it burned them long enough for Mavis to get up and disappear.

She met Alheran in the bushes a bit later, where he introduced himself and told her he'd had his eye on her a while. He told her that she was born to be an assassin, and when she asked him how he knew, he just grinned cruelly, gesturing at Blade's fallen body. He explained that he'd been waiting for an opportunity to meet her, because he had a very important job for her.

She joined the clan he resided in a bit later, after he hired her as a personal bodyguard. She did that job with ease, and when he didn't need her, she trained dragons to be exalted. Of course, no one in the clan knows about her side job. The one where she kills whoever she is told to kill for a bit of extra cash. In this sense, she is no better than Alheran, a shifty Wildclaw with a taste for the darker, more unsavory things in society’s eye. She is cruel and hateful. Certainly not a dragon you want to cross paths with.

It was a short time till Alheran's contact ended. Infact, a reward. It turns out all assassins are targets in eachothers eyes, all have bounty's and it wasn't long till Alheran met his due.

In a mysterious event Mavis never thought to bother with, the rug was swept from underneath her contractor. The established life he had came to an end with one conversation, one which only had two participants. Mavis and Jarilo.

Arrived at Benetnasch rag tagged with a stolen bow and cloak, injured half to death. Currently under the care of Dafel.
