A deeply devout dragon, Chainsaw's life of service to Shadowbinder is the core of his identity. He wouldn't go so far as to call himself a zealot, though Oblivion has suggested as much to him on more than one occasion. Chainsaw was abandoned as a hatchling and found himself rather adrift, wandering the Contagion lost in every sense of the word. Spinel, barely a dragon herself, happened upon him as she and Venge wandered the Scarred Wasteland. The young matriarch invited Chainsaw to join her small clan, a moment he still holds up in awe as an example of Shadowbinder's mercy upon him.

Within the Raven Clan, Chainsaw is the reaper. He carries out the exalting ceremonies for the clan, taking pride (and occasionally a questionable amount of pleasure) in sending dragons onward to serve Shadowbinder. Oblivion has promised that when Chainsaw's service is done, he will do the honor of sending the reaper to join his goddess.
