A mysterious, beautiful stranger. Nobody quite knows where she came from, or why she is here. Maybe she has always been here. Or maybe she has never really been here at all.

Iris is a priestess of Shadow, a true adept. She is so quiet and secretive that even without the aid of her magic, many dragons never notice her. With the aid of her magic, there is hardly anybody who can find her; indeed they often cannot even remember her. She has spent so long steeped in the energies of her arts that she has partly become a shadow herself, dark and insubstantial. That does not make her ineffective, however.

She patrols endlessly through the back of the lair, making sure nothing is there that shouldn't be. She uses her long antennae to detect dragons or energies that may be trying to intrude or hide in the lower recesses of the cavernous lair. If she finds that something has gotten in, she uses her magic to make sure it leaves again. The clan matriarch, having invited her to stay with the clan on a whim, is pleased to have made such a useful friend, and makes sure that Iris is well rewarded for her services.
