My Stories:

However beautiful Suo was, he could not find friends or a clan he could call home. In his loneliness he forgot most of his past - memories shady, grey and painful. With no goals or reasons, he found some dragons traveling all of Sornieth. He started seeing colors again - trees, the sky, all the different landscapes of the different Flights. He was happy - first time for long months.

(12/25)
The part of the Viridian Labyrinth that he stayed at was different from the last place he had stay at; this place was rather quiet. Though the once green foliage was muted due to winter just setting in, he could certainly enjoy all the bright decorations that draped lair and trees.
He was greeted warmly and offered room to relax and recharge. He thought that he could remain here for a little while.

In November Suo visited the clan that accepted him as their own. He did not feel home, but could relax a bit and refresh himself before continuing his journey to other, less familiar sceneries and new faces.

(06/11)
Somewhere in his waken dream, he visited a majestic place where sunbeams were woven between towering buildings and glimmering trees. Ambling back and forth in the cozy gardens of the Lightweaver, he found a piece of music in his mind. As to not forget this pleasant tune, he started humming it - and never stopped.

(07/11)
In a daze, the dragon found himself in a most unpleasant place; it reeked of rot and contagion. He was alone, he felt weak. And he hated it. It was dark, and off in the distance he heard the violent roaring of greater, stronger dragons. Suo watched his step, pus bubbles littered the ground, a path barely recognizable. He hummed his little tune in an attempt to bring himself comfort, and it did to an extent. But it wasn't enough.
With a great flap of the wings, he took off into the skies. There he saw it- sanctuary! Sanctuary! A great fort upon a hill; blood red walls, similar to it's surroundings, like it was intentional he did not see it at first. And yet, the keep's banners- a bold maroon, visible to all, seemed to scream the opposite.

Confused, tired, and hungry he nearly crash landed, managing to bare wakefulness until he felt the ground beneath his paws. When he came to, he was greeted by bright, cyan eyes- like his! The young skydancer was younger, wearing a smile- the air around her seemed to be a little more breathable, and she carried a energetic nature around her. She had explained she was the Princess of the great keep, and cast a spell that would shield him from the toxic air of the region.

She gave him supplies and enough food for his journey. She would safely guide him through the Scarred Wasteland, taking him to their borders. Suo left strangely upbeat and happy, the princess's kindness having rubbed off on him a bit. He would continue his journey, knowing he had found another friend, and with a light feeling in his chest.

(04/01)
He wandered the border between Wind and Plague for a time before coming across a small clan nestled away in a ravine within the plateau. The Wind dragon welcomed him cautiously, for their small numbers gave them much to be wary of. As time passed and he grew acquainted with them, however, they welcomed him and eventually taught him how to play a bamboo flute. The tune in his head picked up from the sunbeam ruins was no longer a clunky, half remembered thing to be hummed, but a light melody that carried well in the constant breeze as his claws fluttered skillfully over the keys.

After a week of staying, however, Suo knew it was time to move on. He bid farewell, shouldered his supplies, and left.
Flute

(05/26)
Suo stayed in the Wind territory for a long time, being hosted by numerous clans. The place started growing on him, and kind of fitted his interest in playing the flute at which he got better each day. But one day, he realized his desire for traveling didn't really leave him yet, and so it was time to head for the border once again. He still didn't visit the Water or the Ice domains.

Yet, along the way, a familiar sound made him once again wander away from the decided path. Someone else was playing a flute somewhere around here? Although the sound was faint, the wind still carried it to his ears and Suo followed it relentlessly.

As he stumbled out in the open, the melody was still there, as loud as ever, but there was no one around to produce it. Perhaps his mind was playing tricks with him?

Just then, something small and light landed on his back. It was a small Fae, carrying an even smaller wooden flute that still took up nearly half of his body size. It would seem that Suo found the source of the melody... Or rather, the source found him.

He wanted to inquire about the small companion; where is he from? What was that melody he played? But as soon as the Fae landed on Suo's back, it curled into a ball and fell asleep; not even Suo's light nudging woke him up.

Not really feeling like staying around for who knows how long, Suo continued on his journey with the smaller dragon on his back. When the Fae finally woke up sometime before sunset, Suo had already forgotten he had been carrying him. Only when the little guy fluttered in front of his snout did he remember he had a companion.

"All rested?", Suo asked and got a nod in return. "Good. I'm Suo, and you?" But the Fae simply shook it's head and pointed at the flute Suo had hanging around his neck. "This thing? It's the same as yours, eh?", Suo chuckled. The Fae nodded and picked up it's own flute, repeating the tune it had played earlier. Soon enough, Suo understood that the Fae wanted to teach him the melody; perhaps as a way of saying thanks for letting him rest. So he gladly accepted and in less then an hour, the two whistled the same melody in different keys; Fae's flute produced a high pitched sound while Suo's gave deeper tones. Still, it only served to improve it and soon enough, Suo continued on his way, happily playing the newly learnt tune over and over again.

(July-August)

Suo traveled for a time, never staying in one place for long, but finally he found himself back in the Viridian Labyrinth. Setting down on the forest floor to hunt, he found himself lost, unable to make his way to an area clear enough to let him take off again; it was only the sound of a Grove Piper playing, a melancholy but somehow strong tune, that let him find a cleared area, on high enough ground that he could take off and fly once more. When he turned back to the forest's edge, he saw the faun, unusually bold, standing in the shadow of a tree, and it didn't bolt when he approached. "Thank you," he called out, and to his surprise, the creature responded, "We try to help lost travelers. Looking for a place to stay?"

The faun's name was Unnia, and it - he? she? neither? Suo wasn't certain how to ask - willingly hopped onto his neck, shouting near his ears to direct him to a landing spot in a clearing near the base of the Behemoth. The village he found, with nests and houses built both on the ground and in the branches of trees, extended all the way to the base of the great tree's trunk, where a massive entryway appeared to lead into the trunk itself. "We just opened an inn," Unnia said, "and there's a marketplace. I don't go inside, but I've heard about the library and the alchemy labs--"

"What I want is to learn that tune you were playing," Suo interrupted, and the faun jumped down and ran in front of him, flute already in hand, clearly delighted.

Unnia turned out not to be the only musician in the area. While the two of them were playing, Suo haltingly mimicking the faun's tune, a green spiral wearing a mask came to join them, and he propped his mask up on his head to accompany them on the pan-pipes. They gained a small audience during their impromptu concert, and Suo was surprised, when they finally all stopped playing, to notice that night was falling. "Let me show you to the inn!" the spiral exclaimed, and while Suo looked around for Unnia, the faun was nowhere to be seen. Suo followed his new companion, instead, to speak to a pink coatl regarding lodging and payment.

The weeks that followed were peaceful, as Suo's stays in the Viridian Labyrinth had typically been. Unnia came and went, but was around more often then not, especially when Suo was outdoors, even more so when he was apart from the other dragons. There were other travelers staying in the inn, or eating in the clan's communal dining hall, and they shared tales of their extensive travels. A young coatl couple celebrated a wedding - a strange custom, as foreign to most of the residents as it was to Suo, but it seemed to be merely a formalization of an agreement to be exclusive mates. A few of the older dragons seemed to disapprove - decisions about mating were private, after all, why make it everyone's business? - but the young couple seemed sweet, and very fond of each other, and Suo was happy to play at the celebration at the request of the quiet tundra arranging the whole undertaking.

But in time, he grew restless, and eventually he settled his bill at the inn, said goodbye to his acquaintances, and packed his few belongings. He was only surprised, as he made his way up the Behemoth's trunk to the clan's flight platform, to find Unnia there.

"Planning to leave without me?" the faun asked.

"I suppose not," Suo replied, and dipped his head to let the tiny creature climb on.
