A note from Mother

I was so worried, so afraid for your fate, my Stila. My other eggs, every other egg I have sat with in a nest, begins to show me the life inside soon before hatching. A subtle rock to the side, the faint pulse of the heartbeat within, anything. The entire time I sat with you in our nest, not once did you stir. I said nothing to your father, his tender heart would have shattered, but I willed to whatever deity would hear me that you would hatch and be perfectly healthy. And they must have heard me. You came into this world with your bright eyes of arcane twinkling with something special. When I approached you, nosing your head to welcome you to this new world, something peculiar struck me. You were cold, my love. Your body felt like ice to the touch but no matter how I tried, I could find nothing else wrong with you. You yipped and smiled and your beautiful, glittering body reflected the clouds above. Despite your cool body, I lifted you into my arms and thought so fondly of how sweetly you cheered at the affection. How peculiar that I can't find a heartbeat, though...

[Suspen]: "Stila came to us as a kit, bearing nothing but a scrap of parchment from her mother and her own proud demeanor as a shield and sword. She has since then been a firecracker, whip-smart and unafraid to speak harsh truths, from her first words to me, a demand for food and food immediately, to her stalwart star-tellings, bringing omens both good and ill. Ever an Arcanite, intricate magyks seem to run through Stila's veins where blood would run through all others. Her deep connection with the Arcane flight led her northwest, before we quickly lost all contact. When she finally returned we were still unable to be relieved, for nearly six months had passed and Stila was.... different. She had spent her time wandering the Starwood Strand, observing unchecked leylines and communing with strange creatures that reside deep in the forests there. These experiences shaped her in immeasurable ways.

And oh, is Stila ever different. She speaks far less but, I would wager, sees far more than she ever did. Her gaze seems to cut to the very heart and aura of any dragon or beast that she turns her face towards, and she is still unafraid to speak of what she sees there. She is impossibly wise, and ancient behind her eyes. She is prone, now, to wandering off. For days, weeks, she will be gone, and just when we give up on her ever returning she will invariably show up again with some lost, fate-touched dragon in tow. Why does she bring them all here? So many of them are warriors... Is she collecting them? Has our far-seer foreseen a battle we cannot win on our own?

Her touch, so often unnaturally cold, is now like the ice of deep winters.

I am troubled, I think, by Stila Duskteller."

"I have a "go to" of 115 INT/70 QCK/everything else in VIT and whatever else, and for stones I usually have these on my mages:

Meditate, Contuse, Rally, elemental bolt, Aid or Regeneration, 3 Scholars, and 2 Ambushes

However, the beauty of mages is that you can stat them however to fit your needs!"
