Solstice

Solstice was born into Clan Lacrima. She and her twin brother Equinox scales shone with colors which reflected the Lightweaver's own. This of course causes a great stir within the lair and interpreted by the priestess of the clan to be a good omen. Little more was thought of it, even when a celestial antelope was found one morning curled up against the young hatching. On the eve of her coming of age the young dragon was alarmed to see her antelope had left her and more still to see Ist, the familiar of the clans priestess studying her from nearby. The Shining Goblin approached her and spoke to her in quiet tones until dawn broke.

When Solstice, now terribly confused and concerned she may now have the current priestess Gossamer's ire, tried to speak to the brightly colored Fae she found that Amath barred her way. "My mate is in meditation young one. I understand you have questions, but Gossamer must find answers to her own first."

It was days before Solstice got a chance to speak with Gossamer and when she did she was amazed to see that the older dragon had become a Guardian. "I know why you have sought me out these past days. As Ist joined you, an Ursa joined me. I meditated long on why this occurred but the answer is clear. I, it seems, was only meant to prepare your place for you. You have clearly been meant to become our priestess and now that you have come of age your scales and eyes shine all the brighter. Ist is an invaluable mentor, when your studies have been completed under her gaze I have no doubt she shall direct your own towards a new teacher."

Solstices heart almost broke when she heard the tinge of sorrow behind the guardians words. "I promise elder, I did not ask..."

"Nor did you have to. Fate leads us all strange places. I was born a Fae but it seems I was meant to become a Guardian. My Search was over before it began, you are my Charge. I will not force your path but I will see to it that no matter where you may travel, you shall do so safely."

Now, with the blessing and protection of Gossamer, Solstice has become the Clans priestess. She ensures the clan carries on the values of the flight's deity and helps advise the leader in ways the clans resources can be used to better serve the Lightweaver. She assumed her duties within days of coming of age but you will find no argument against her skill and competency within her new role.
