That time came in the form of a devastating volcanic eruption that destroyed their clan and tore the land apart. Moonstrike watched in horror as his home and everything he had built was consumed by flames and molten lava. The loss of life was unimaginable, and the mental toll on Moonstrike was immense. He felt responsible for the tragedy, and struggled to come to terms with the destruction of his once-prosperous reign. In the aftermath of the eruption, Moonstrike was left with only a handful of survivors from his clan. They were forced to start over, rebuilding their lives and their community from the ashes of the disaster. It was a difficult and trying time, but they persevered and eventually managed to rebuild their home and their lives. Moonstrike continued to lead his clan, but the experience of the volcanic eruption had changed him. He became more cautious and wary, always on the lookout for potential threats to his community. He continued to train the new recruits and assign duties to the dragons around him, but he never forgot the devastating loss he had suffered. The memory of the eruption and the lives lost would always haunt him, but he took solace in the knowledge that he had managed to rebuild and continue on despite the tragedy. Welcome to the Magic Academy of Metallurgists! Here, a competent group of leaders founded an Academy based around instruction and production of melding Metals with Magic. The Headmistress, Mara, oversees the instruction and holds the most magical potential of any dragon in the academy. Moonstrike, as the Headmaster, is tasked with the speaking and decision-making for the Academy and Clan as a whole, and was one of two founders for the clan in the first place (Moonstrike and RoseTalon). Mara and Illarion are a powerful pair in the Academy's lore, with their children being gifted in the art of Magic and/or Metallurgy. Illarion takes ores with particularly strong affinities for magic and uses them to make magical armors, weapons, and items. Mara is a sorceress with near limitless potential, and a strong tie to the magic that she weilds. She is a strong yet kind leader, and oversees much of the Academy's direction. Seeing students excel and unlock new powers fills her with energy and passion. RoseTalon is a fierce entity, leading the defense of the clan and making sure that food was always at the ready. She helped Moonstrike found the clan in the beginning. ________________________________________ |

As Moonstrike explored the waters around the Shattered Isles, he found himself struggling to balance his duties as a leader with his desire to explore and adventure. He loved the thrill of discovery, the rush of excitement that came with exploring the unknown. But at the same time, he knew that he had a responsibility to his people, to protect and serve them.
At first, Moonstrike tried to juggle both roles, spending part of his time leading the clan and part of his time exploring the ocean. But he soon found that it was impossible to do both effectively. As his adventures took him further and further from home, he became more and more distant from his people. They needed a leader who was present and available, not one who was constantly off on some far-flung adventure.
Eventually, Moonstrike realized that he could not continue to lead his people if he was going to keep exploring the ocean. He was torn, for he loved both roles, but he knew that he could not do both. In the end, he made the difficult decision to step down as leader and focus on his adventures.
It was not an easy decision, but Moonstrike knew that it was the right one. He had always been a creature of the sea, and he knew that his true calling was to explore and adventure. He was proud of what he had accomplished as a leader, but he knew that he could do even more good if he focused on his true passion. He stepped down as leader, and the clan chose a new leader to take his place. Moonstrike was sad to leave his position, but he was excited to embark on a new chapter in his life, one filled with adventure and discovery.
Moonstrike was a skilled and experienced dragon, but he had never had to navigate the treacherous waters around the Shattered Isles. The swift and deadly currents that crashed between the islands were a challenge even for the most experienced sailors, and Moonstrike knew that he had much to learn.
He began by studying the maps and charts that were available, learning the layout of the islands and the location of the dangerous currents. He consulted with other dragons who were familiar with the waters, seeking their advice and guidance. He practiced navigating the currents in small boats and rafts, learning to read the signs and signals that indicated the presence of danger.
As he grew more skilled and confident, Moonstrike began to explore the waters around the Shattered Isles more extensively. He discovered hidden coves and inlets, rich in resources and potential. He mapped the new islands that had been created by the volcanic eruptions, and he explored the depths of the ocean, seeking out new sources of ore and gemstones.
In time, Moonstrike became one of the most skilled and experienced navigators in the Shattered Isles. He was respected and admired by the other dragons, and he was often called upon to guide them through the treacherous waters. He was a master of the sea, and he was determined to protect and serve the people of the Shattered Isles.
As Moonstrike explored the waters around the Shattered Isles, he began to notice strange changes taking place in his body. His black scales became lustrous and iridescent, shimmering with an inner light that seemed to reflect the colors of the ocean. His wings transformed into powerful fins, allowing him to swim through the water with ease and grace.
Moonstrike was surprised and intrigued by these changes, but he was not afraid. He sensed that the magic of the waters was working its way into his body, transforming him into a creature of the sea. He welcomed the changes, feeling a deep connection to the ocean and its inhabitants.
As he continued to explore the waters, Moonstrike's body underwent even more dramatic transformations. His legs elongated and became serpentine, allowing him to slither through the water like a great eel. His beard grew long and silvery, resembling a great mane of seaweed. His eyes became sharp and keen, able to see even in the darkest depths of the ocean.

Moonstrike lay atop his rocky outcrop, observing the growing bustle of his lair. His first mate, RoseTalon, was still in charge of gathering supplies and food. She barked orders to her gatherers as they prepared to strike out for the day. Little hatchlings darted around their feet, earning glares and growls from the workers. Their chirping play-noises brought a grin to Moonstrike's face, he was happy to have little ones around. They grew up so fast. Watching the little ones play, he reflected on how this had all started. After wandering for what seemed like forever, he finally came upon a bit of unclaimed Fire land, and asked for the blessing of Flamecaller to make it his own. The great flame diety obliged, and preparations began to build his small home. Soon, RoseTalon had come along, also seeking a home to call her own. Together, they sculpted a cave (which was still in the process of expanding into the cliffside), dug a trench to hold water for growing crops of valuable plants and medicine, and searched the forums for other dragons looking to leave their dens and venture out to a new home. The response was overwhelming, and within the first few days, the lair was already looking alive with activity! Dragons from all over volunteered to come and help with the home-making, most of them staying after making friends and being given familiars to enjoy the company of. Soon, every dragon had an assigned or self-proclaimed role in the family, and together they continued to collect treasure for Mather and grow. The small clan of a few dragons became alive with offspring, growing larger and larger to have presence with nearby colonies, and make a name for themselves. Moonstrike was proud. Now, when would the hardship begin, he wondered. Their current progress was too good to be true. It was only a matter of time before something came along to disrupt the harmony. 12/13/16 Moonstrike spread his brilliantly bright blue wings and leaped into the air, swooping down the cliffside of the lair to gain speed. He climbed higher and higher, viewing the Academy from above. They had created this, together. Cousat and Inachus had joined the clan and quickly became the most celebrated and revered warriros, training aspiring fighters and bringing back mountains of loot. Moonstrike himself had recieved training with them, but they still far outclassed his simple attacks. They could have any dragon they wished as mates, and many dragons in the lair had mated with them. Heaving a sigh, Moonstrike slowly circled down towards Garen's lair. Garen hadn't seen much fighting on the training fields, though he frequently picked fights with other dragons whom he deemed "pansies", and had acquired much battle experience from fighting them. He kept watch over the hoard, keeping it organized and making sure that the food stores never dropped too low. Garen was a saving grace for the clan, as Moonstrike hadn't the patience for such strict organization. Moonstrike was thankful for the diverse array of duties that the dragons around him achieved, and landed heavily before Garen's lair, folding his bright blue wings to his obsidian body before padding in. After this, he would see to the new recruits and find them living space. The endless duties every day certainly kept Moonstrike on his toes. ________________________________________ |
