There is an ancient association between glass and fragility. It's a careful material, created with care and to be handled as such lest it break, and to be made of glass is to walk on a knife's edge, always in danger of shattering.

But only if something is made of weak glass, and Marie is anything but weak.

A tidy Coatl, Marie was born with a fire so hot that her belly burned blue through her shiny glass skin. There was no rhyme or reason to the glass that replaced scales, no sense in the way it shifted so easily to accommodate her movement, but there didn't have to be sense. There was curiosity and beauty wrapped around her at all times, and she embraced it, taking a liking early on to all things decorative. Dangling earrings, finely wrought necklaces, bangles up and down her arms for miles, all were delightful prizes that only added to her charm, and that charm spread.

At first, she was just the glass dragon, an anomaly at best. But then she was stunning in every light, and the world around her set out to emulate her style. Marie hadn't intended to become a trendsetter, but when her every move flashed in the sun and her laughter sounded so much like wind chimes, albeit made of glass, she was impossible to resist. Soon, people were clamoring for a hint of her style, seeking out the finest jewels and adornments they could find. Jewelers made a fine living as Marie rose to attention in the eyes of her peers, selling out their wares almost faster than they could replace them.

Eventually, though, Marie realized she could help herself with her newfound fame. The jewelers would still be very well off, but she could more than provide for herself. All it took was a little initiative, a strange dash of gut feeling that she was right, and some colored sand, super-heated into glowing taffy, waiting to be reshaped.

Ever since, Marie has continued the life of a glassblower, spinning delicate glass flowers into existence and selling them as single decorations, bouquets, pendants, earrings, and everything in between. Her work brings her joy and purpose, not to mention an impressive income, managed with a shrewdness belied by her vibrant demeanor; Marie is no fool when it comes to managing her business. Her products have a growing reputation for being some of the finest glassblowing Sornieth can offer, so exquisite they are in their detail. Who better to craft glass miracles than a dragon forged of glass and fire, after all?
