-Both specie of centipede are Shade's carrier, while both are capable of infect any dragon with the shade affliction, it's believed by the ones that know the existence of those beast, that the amethyst one always carry the Shade's infection.
-That's a myth as the Centipedes exterminator and/or trainers and scientists have made studies, showing up that while only the 13% of the bites by a orchid specie cause the shade infecction, up to 95% on the amethyst one cause it. ( when it come to cause a wound with any else part of their body that isn't their strong jaw, the odd drop to around 2% on the orchid and 37 % on the amethyst)
-The bite of those creatures is know to create a more sharp and painful derivative of the normal dragon gembond, causing to form big chunks of gembonds that will make difficult the movility of the region that got afflicted, the gembond caused by the bite of a young specimen are know to be even worse, as they sharp jaws have the posibility to break through more muscle that an adult, causing the affliction to form around the bone, totally imposibiliting the movement of the part, causing to lost forever the movility that part of the body had even if they remove all the gembonds.

-This particular specimen is for now, the strongest alive specimen of centipede-ish creature, got domesticated by the clan's member when was just a larvae.

-The only healer known to be capable of erasing gembonds from dragon skins and bones is Tamarisha and erderly dragon that will absorb your gembond into her body , her body is already full of huge chunks of that gemstone and she refuse to teach anyone how to do that
