Dragons born not from living parents, but from the graves of passed couples.
neutralvs1.png
A group of monks have tended to a massive graveyard for hundreds of years, carefully turning the soil and allowing beautiful flowers and trees to proper among the graves. This gave an element of beauty to something traditionally sad, but it was worth it to the monks. To allow dragons that have moved on to make their final resting place a beautiful area forever protected by careful guardians. All dragons, except for imperials due to safety concerns, are welcome to be buried here, especially couples that have moved on together. Couples are the most commonly buried, the two dragons wishing to seek each other out in the afterlife and wanting to remain together regardless of the state of their existence. The monks have paid special care to these graves, knowing that they were caring for two dragons instead of one.

The peace of the graveyard was maintained for centuries, up until the Occurrence. For roughly twenty years, hatchlings have begun to claw their way up through the earth, crying out for someone to care for them. The monks were shocked at first, not understanding where these children were coming from. After all, none of them appeared from the graves of actual children. No, instead, these young, fully alive hatchlings, appeared from the graves of couples that had been buried ages ago. Somehow, despite all the odds and impossibilities, the dead were giving birth to living children. The monks had begun to care for these hatchlings, searching for them at every site where a couple had been buried years before. They take these hatchlings and try to find loving homes for them, explaining to the soon-to-be parents where these remarkable children came from. Except for the odd infertile dragon or two, these children are perfectly healthy, passing all inspections from renowned doctors.

The only mystery that remains is how the long lost couples are producing the eggs. Some have speculated that magic, bleeding into the ground, helped to mix with the elemental energies of the parents which created an egg underground. Yet others say that these children are blessings from above, a gift of the gods and goddesses, knowing that the parents always wanted children but never had the chance to give life to any of them. This was their chance. Regardless of the reason or the science of these children appearing, the monks do not question this amazing miracle. These children are gifts to the world.
