B I O G R A P H Y

Theia was hatched under the stars on an island where the boundary between Sornieth and the spirit realm was thin, and these aspects of her birth clan seem ingrained in her. She learned the stars from her parents, facts about them and how to chart them, how to use astronomical tools to better see and calculate them. She soon realized that she saw more than just the stars when she peered into the night sky - she could see the future in them. Theia soon learned to use her sight with other vessels, but her favorite was always the stars.

While still a hatchling, one of her visions showed her a clan on the edge of the Focal Point. That journeying there alone might be dangerous for a youngling never crossed her mind. She told her parents that the stars had directed her elsewhere and bade them goodbye, then set off for the Star Dust Valley. Theia got lost a few times - there was so much outside of her home clan to be distracted with and filled with wonder by - but eventually she came to the edge of the clan she sought, where she encountered two beautiful pearlcatchers staring down at her, exclaiming over what one so young could be doing out wandering around all on her own.

One, graceful and elegant, looked fierce, but she had a small, content smile that widened the more she looked Theia. The other projected an intimidating air, and he was staring at her in grave concern. As he reached out to check and see if she was wounded, she reached back at him, making a small sound of approval as she rested her paw on his nose. His serious, worried gaze softened, and Theia knew she had found a home where she would be nurtured and protected.

She has adapted well to her new home, though most dragons don't know quite how to read her quirky behavior - one minute she is catching Miths and looking for faeries and other mystical creatures, speaking wistfully of the spirits she knew as a hatchling, and the next she's spouting highly obscure astronomical facts and rattling off complex calculations...or making a passing whimsical comment about the future. She complains aloud to the Arcanist as if he can really hear every word she's saying - and perhaps he can, for other dragons swear they can hear him complaining back.

B I O G R A P H Y

Theia couldn't quite pinpoint when it was that she first noticed the coatl Hyperion. Her attention was nearly always engrossed in the stars or in faeries or in the future, but the latter is where he first caught her eye. She began seeing fuzzy glimpses of a pink coatl in the stars. When she finally turned her gaze earthward again, she blinked, startled to see the same pink coatl shyly sneaking glances at her, partially hidden behind her stargazing equipment. Perhaps this was a nod from the Arcanist, then - she was meant to befriend him.

Her first words to him nearly made him faint. Theia thought perhaps she had done something wrong, but after some time in his presence, she began to realize that he was chronically anxious and frequently shaking from nerves, seeming to be in a constant state of near panic, especially around crowds. Thinking to calm him, she handed him a telescope and told him to stargaze with her at night, then took him faerie hunting during the day. His anxiety calmed in her company, his grip on the telescope no longer shaking the longer he spent in her presence, and perhaps because of this he spent more and more time with her to the point where it became hard for her to remember what her life was like without him hanging around. It shocked her more than a little, how fond she had grown of him over time - though it surprised her even more when he shyly confessed that he had been in love with her all along, that she had stolen his heart the first time he had laid eyes on her.

Their feelings finally realized and confessed to each other, they are now rarely seen without each other and are an extremely close and affectionate couple. A simple touch from Theia, and Hyperion forgets to be nervous in the company of a lot of dragons. A simple nudge from Hyperion reminds Theia that there is more to life than what is displayed up in the stars.
