Blitz was never special. His mother liked to pretend he was something special by giving him a strong, powerful name and would point out all of the works that would provide money quick and fast. Manipulative? Maybe. Poor? Yes.

But he wasn't interested in that- the jewelry making, the silk weaving, even professional cooking. No, he enjoyed coffee. It started when his mother came home, talons full of stolen goods so that they could eat that evening. And out spilled a few coffee beans, which were quickly scooped up and tucked away.

He loved them. As a baby, he played with them, smelling them, anything he could, until they simply withered away. He went to markets, trailing the scent until he found a nature dragon, cart full of coffee beans, trudging along. She was very nice.

He came home with a small coin purse clutched in his hands, giggling happily. His mother was quick to notice, and snatched it away, thinking it to be coin or gold. He didn't do anything. How could he?

It was barely moonrise when his mother came in, a seething whirlwind of flashing wings and snapping teeth, asking why he had brought home beans? He'd known they couldn't afford this! Her tail lashed at his soft scales, tears welling in his eyes.

He didn't sleep that night.

The next morning, he went out to the market, once again, seeking out the kind guardian trudging along with her cart of coffee. She offered him a kind smile and soft words, a pouch of beans, and as he offered his tale, she game him another gift. A safe place where coffee trees grew tall and pungent, where he couldn't be scolded like that, where he wouldn't have to worry about food.

He never went back home.

When Blitz finally grew older, he decided to make a coffee store from some of the coffee seeds that he planted in his childhood. Instead of the flowers being white and the fruit being red; the trees mysteriously switched the colours around making his coffee one of the most unique looking beverages around.
