former pirate | current record keeper | though no one knows it

A GIRL CALLED HOOK

____My name is actually Beatrice, and growing up, everyone called me Puck. Then I ran away from home to become a pirate, and named myself Davy Jones. But some bad stuff happened, and Davy Jones represents death, so now I call myself Hook. And since I just landed here, no one here knows of my past names. So no one calls me Puck or Davy anymore; just Hook. Well, my best friend Scarlett knows all my names, because I tell her all my secrets. But she never uses them, because those are versions of who I was, and this is who I am now.

NEW BEGINNINGS

____I came in a bit of a chaotic time; everyone was rushing about preparing for Starfall, and the plague was just setting in, though no one really knew it at the time. The first clan-wide event I attended was Yissak’s funeral. Everyone welcomed me in warmly though, despite all the grief and the business. I didn’t mind that dragons didn’t have much time to pry; I was coming off my own trauma, and was actually supposed to be exalted to the Observatory and serve the Arcanist. Boba Fett brought me in. But I snuck away from my training, and Aiedail let me decide to stay, shielding me from Boba’s notice until the push was well over. He was a little annoyed that I got past him, but since no one complained about my staying, he’s let me be.

I tend to go most of my day unnoticed, silently observing this family I’ve sort of fallen into. They’re a very dynamic, unique group of dragons, with their own quirks and dramatics and ideals, though the ideals of individuals sometimes conflict. I’ve taken it upon myself to make a record of them, though no one knows of my project except Scarlett and Avi. Scarlett won’t tell, because she’s loyal like that, and Avi can’t tell, so it remains a secret for now. Of course some of the others have noticed that I write a lot, but I always just tell them I’m writing stories. They just don’t know that those stories are about them.

A BIT ABOUT MYSELF

____I am quite small, and quiet and shy, though Scarlett and I have our own brand of wit, and can go on and on for hours. Or we can rest in amiable quiet for hours. Depending on our mood. Sometimes we also fight. Scarlett has a temper, and I do this internalizing thing, until I explode. But we always make up. And then we usually eat a lot, in celebration.

My attire usually consists of buccaneer-ish things, but sometimes I wear this pirate sweater. Frayda gave it to me when she was outfitting me when I first got here; she said that it’d been around a little while, a prize from a festival or something, and several dragons had worn it temporarily because they thought it was funny, but no one had really latched onto it. She said it seemed like my kind of thing though. It’s soft and warm and a little too big. It is definitely my kind of thing.

Scarlett is my best friend and primary confident. Don't know what I did before I met her.

Avi is also a good confident because she just listens and gives the best facial expressions to show how she feels. She's super sweet and way more ornery than dragons give her credit for.
