______ A descendant of the Gatekeeper, she is the daughter of Soul, granddaughter of Mara, great granddaughter of Willow, great great granddaughter of Naomi, the Glitch Queen.

______ The Lampads are the nymphs of the Underworld in Greek mythology. Companions of Hecate, the Greek titan goddess of witchcraft and crossroads, they were a gift from Zeus for Hecate's loyalty in the Titanomachy. They bear torches and accompany Hecate on her night-time travels and hauntings. Some accounts tell of how the light of the Lampads' torches has the power to drive one to madness. The Lampads were probably the daughters or sons of various Underworld gods, Daimones, river gods, or Nyx.

B I O G R A P H Y

______ As a descendant of Naomi, Lampad has always been distantly aware. Aware of another world peeking through the Veil. Aware of forces above all dragons, above even the Gods themselves. She was also aware of the influence those forces, whatever they are, have on the world around her, and its inhabitants. Even herself. There is something simutaneously terrifying and reassuring in knowing your actions are not the product of your own free will. She didn't know if free will even existed in this world. She wasn't sure she cared.

______ For some reason, she was blessed (or cursed?) with this awareness. She knew it was because of Naomi's influence, but also the will of whatever was behind the Chiroptera Cult. She coud have been as much as a sheep as the other dragons, if not for this being's will. She didn't know if she was supposed to feel grateful. The others didn't seem to mind being oblivious. Maybe ignorance really was a bliss. Though she suspected some of her denmates where aware of It too, maybe even more than her. Again, she didn't really care. She didn't particularly want to know what exactly was going on. She was content living in the Chiroptera Cult, sharing this weird existancial joke with the puppet master behind the scenes.

______ Besides, she had been gifted by Them with a powerful name and Fire magic. Her mastery of Fire brought her great joy; She didn't need to pierce the secret of her existence, as long as she could live her quiet life, burning holes in the literal fabric of dimensions and guiding lost souls to their homes or their demise with her flickering lights. She even got along well with some of her denmates, especially Azrael and Lacrymosa's family. Maybe she hadn't had a choice in the matter, but the Chiroptera Cult truly felt like family.
